Kisyu Shirahama Onsen Musashi

"This was a really cool retro/traditional hotel. While very well maintained, the ambience is something out of the 1970s. The traditional room with tatami mat flooring and the sliding doors with rice paper were so lovely. I enjoyed sleeping on the futon, which the staff comes and lays out for you in the evening. Beach access to Shirahama beach is almost perfect. The sea view room did not disappoint for views. The breakfast and supper buffets were the most diverse and wonderful I have ever experienced. They can get very busy and chaotic, however. The staff were.soooo helpful. The baths were very nice and I did not experience any busy-ness in them. Overall, a great and super unique experience!"

"The room was clean and nice. They provide almost everything including detergent for laundry and drying rack and you can use the dehumidifer to dry the clothes when it rained. There were mould on the bathroom curtain so hope they will clean up. Overall we had a good stay."
Shiraraso Grand Hotel

"Good things: Excellent location - it just a few steps to the Shirahama beach, and a bus stop just outside the hotel. Great staff at the check-in counter, room is clean and okay. Bad things: It's a dated hotel, the room is clean but the hallway (3rd floor) is a little bit smelly. The traditional restaurant mostly serves local Japanese, I don't feel wellcomed during our dinner time. Also, there was nobody to open the sliding door at the restaurant exit when we leave, but they did for the local Japanese."

"This is a lovely hotel, very welcoming and the rooms were huge with fabulous views. Didn’t try the in house restaurants but there’s lots of nice places locally. It’s about 15 mins walk to the beach which is stunning."

"5 mins walk from Kii- Tanabe station, very convenient and room was spacious enough as we did not bring our luggage i recommend staying here if you are there for Kumano Kodo"
Grand Mercure Wakayama Minabe Resort & Spa

"While our stay at this location was short, it was fantastic. They have put in quite a bit of work to make the hotel clean and well taken care of, they rent electric assist bicycles to get to town for groceries or exploring. My family loved the hot springs. Laundry onsite. Beautiful beach nearby, although not great for swimming or snorkeling it was very pretty, quiet, and private. Staff is incredibly helpful. They sell packages that include breakfast and dinner, but not lunch. The buffets are HUGE with tons of food and drink options. I 100% would stay here again."

"Wished there was an elevator for our luggage in the annex building Key 1. Otherwise spacious and clean. Didn’t have time for breakfast but saw and smelled the delicious bread and pastries.Can view bread making from windows hotel entrance"
