About this property

Hot Tub Hideaway

  • Hidden on half an acre of the finest trees that Pine Cove has to offer, Raccoon Ridge is the perfect place for your next escape. It's a quiet get away but also just a quick 5 min drive to Downtown Idyllwild.

Want to stick around the house? We don't blame you. In case you find that you've run out of cheese puffs, beef jerky, firewood or wine - there is a well maintained gas station/convenience store, Pine Cove Market, a short walk away. You passed it on your way to the house. They have worms and night crawlers if you decide to go fishing at Lake Hemet (a quick 15 minute drive).

If the hot tub's forest view isn't enough - hiking, camping, rock climbing and mountain biking are all a short distance away. Like right-down-the-road short distance away.

This spacious A-frame home is equipped to handle a quiet couples retreat as well as family gatherings. With 1960 square feet, Raccoon Ridge sleeps up to 6 people (1 King bed, 1 Queen size bed, a Bunk Bed featuring 2 Twin Size beds).

Gather the family in the main living space, complete with 55" smart TV...or retreat to the "Den" to listen to music on the blue tooth enabled audio system. The crackling of the fireplace in the Den sounds good too.

    Hot Tub? - Yeahman.
    Wood burning fireplace? - Yep.
Wireless internet? - Yes, and it works surprisingly well.

Raccoon Ridge also features 2 large patios so you can enjoy the trees and some big rocks and giant squirrels. No kidding, they are huge. BBQ on the back deck or take advantage of the fully equipped kitchen... either way, you are killing it. Good job. You picked the perfect place!

We do accept pets - please let us know if you plan on bringing your buddy up.

This was a genuinely great find. Spacious, clean and comfy. The decor was cool and eclectic and the hot top was great too. Our family had a lot of fun with the games and toys. The host was clear and communicative and check in was super easy.

We really enjoyed our stay overall. The location is great, the neighborhood is quiet, and the home being pet friendly was a big plus for us. The jacuzzi was also a highlight and we were able to relax and enjoy the trip. That said, it did feel like we were the first guests of the season and the home could use some maintenance and attention before future stays. We brought these to the attention of the host. The host was responsive when we reached out, which we appreciated, but the home would benefit from some general upkeep and preventative maintenance. With a little attention to these items, this could easily be a great place to stay.

We had an amazing time at The Hot Tub Hideaway. It was the perfect weekend getaway, spacious, beautifully and thoughtfully decorated, with ample space for our fam of 4 pup, with all the cooking utensils and supplies we could dream of. It was perfectly situated in town, the kids had so much fun sledding down the yard, and we loved the hot tub. Even better than the stay itself was our gracious host -- when we learned that my son's basketball team made it to the championship and i reached out to ask David if he'd be willing to adjust the dates by a day (He did! no problem and wished us luck, so glad we didn't have to miss bc they won). that kind of thoughtfulness goes a long way. Would love to visit again

Great stay

The house was very nice. The lighting inside was a little interesting and sparse. The beds were very hard but we enjoyed how the house was tucked away in the area. Appreciated they accommodated two dogs. Owners were very responsive.

Great getaway

We enjoyed our stay at Raccoon Ridge and our stay was made even better because we got to bring our dogs along. We arrived in Pine Cove about an hour earlier than check-in, but, David gave us the go ahead to head on over. This A-frame was gorgeous and clean with modern furniture (loved the comfy couch). We enjoyed the jacuzzi, the full kitchen, the comfy beds and the quiet. We needed assistance during our stay and David was very easy to reach.

Second Stay and Coning Back

This house is definitely going to be my winter getaway location each year. The property is very private and quiet. The Jacuzzi on the balcony has a beautiful view. The house has really cool art throughout, and is very clean and well stocked with supplies. The house is spacious, and the beds are comfortable. The owner is great to communicate with as well!

Great spot!!

My kids had an absolute blast!! Very relaxing and a wonderful experience! I would like to mention they don’t have lots of storage for your own items such as dry goods. They also don’t offer coffee. I bought a few items and just left them there so the next person can have those accessible. But that was a minor thing, all and all I would recommend staying here, it was AWESOME

Little Getaway

I would have given 5 stars for cleanliness but my husband got a big clump of long black hair stuck on the bottom of his foot while getting out of shower. the upstairs shower needs a good cleaning with bleach but I have OCD so maybe I'm picky. Besides that issue everything else was perfect. The cabin was really nice and great area. Very quite and peaceful.

Uncomfortable beds, house needs much maintenance and care

Pros- host communicated quickly and allowed us to check in a few hours early. Cons- king and queen sized beds are like sleeping on hard futons, upper toilet ran constantly and had to turn it off at nights, lower toilet seat was crooked and not comfortable to sit on and we were told handyman would check it out and didn’t-house smelled like mildew and smoke, front and back deck needs major stain or paint and there were loose boards and large nail which I almost tripped on.Overall the house felt run down and a shame as lots of potential and location was good. We left very early date of check out so we could come home and sleep in comfortable beds.

Gorgeous hideaway in the woods

We stayed for two week (including tropical storm Hilary) and absolutely enjoyed it. The house is just at the rim of a forest. We saw a bobcat walking up to the house twice. Squirrels and birds were present every day. Nature pure. The house is cozy and extremely well equipped to the detail. The top entrance area has two living room areas. One with a large, cozy L-shaped couch and a modern TV. The other area has a leather couch, cozy chairs and a fire place. The kitchen is very well equipped. We cook a lot and did not miss a thing. The dining area has a large table. The deck is very spacious and on the tree canopy level. You really feel like being in the woods. The small tables and chairs are perfect to find different spots with shade during the day. The hot tub is also on the deck. We used it almost daily. The lower area has the three sleeping rooms that are nice cold during summer. Given the previous reviews we worried about the hard mattresses and pre-contacted the owner. He was so nice and replaced them. I can attest that the new mattresses are not too hard, not too soft. Perfect! There are two bathrooms. The one in the upper level is spacious with a large shower and two sinks. The lower one is smaller, has a shower/bathtub, and two doors that connect to the master bedroom and the floor. There is plenty of towels, hand soap, toilet paper. The owner is super responsive (almost instantaneously) and takes good care of his visitors. We definitely want to return!

We had a lovely time, at a lovely location! The beds were a little harder than we would have liked but the couches were incredibly comfortable! The hot tub was nice, the space was fantastic and functional, and the kitchen was fully stocked and ready for daily use. We would totally go back again!
