"Expect small rooms, a standard in Japan We gafe stayed here twice before Close to station, and if you’re happy to walk around lots, it’s a good choice not too far but not too close to the main Shinjuku area - shops/Godzilla. If you want to go shopping at Don Quijote there’s one walking distance from the hotel. If you like bbq there’s 2 bbq places just past the station entrance. Laundry services for washing and drying - although pls. Enough time for drying as 1 cycle will not be enough you’ll need at least 1hr min to dry unless it’s a small load Tullys next door got breakfast too We will be back to this hotel"

"Fabulous place to stay. So convenient to many shops and the local train station. Breakfast was really great and a good selection of foods for everyone. Really loved the relaxation area where you can sit and chill in the afternoon and evening with family and have complimentary beer, wine, other assorted drinks and lollies, especially for kids. The free Disney shuttle is so convenient and runs often in both directions. We would definitely recommend the Oriental Hotel."

"We booked a room with two beds for two adults and two kids. Our stay here was fantastic! The room was a bit cramped, but we spent most of our time exploring Asakusa. It was a comfortable place to stay. I loved the view of the Skytree, Senso-ji temple, and the street food area (I don’t think that’s considered Nakamise street). The view was stunning. Room necessities like shampoo, brush, and toothbrush were all located in the main lobby, which was super convenient. We could use the self-service option instead of constantly calling the front desk. There was a water dispenser on every floor and coffee in the lobby. My feedback is around the cleaning. We asked for cleaning on day two, and it seemed like the garage was the only thing taken out. The room was full of girls, and we did our best to pick up the hair on the floor, but it really needed to be vacuumed. On day three, the room was cleaned, but we had to request it again via the TV process (which was also cool). Outside of that, there was too much furniture for a room that size. I would recommend removing the big chair and coffee table. Location 10/10 Amenities 10/10 Cleanliness 9/10 Room 8/10 Staff 10/10"

APA Hotel Keisei Ueno Ekimae Minami

"I just returned from my trip to Tokyo and I stayed at APA Hotel Keisei Ueno Ekimae Minami for 4 nights. Getting to the hotel in the evening from the Keisei Ueno station was quite straightforward. Check-in was quite smooth and I was provided with a room on a higher floor (as I requested). The room was quite tiny and compact, but I was impressed with the flow of the room and I was equally impressed with how purposeful the tiny bathroom was. I purchased breakfast with my stay, however, I had to miss breakfast on all days because I was quite sick with a cold and I did not want to inconvenience other travelers or visitors with my cold. This hotel, not to be confused with the other APA Hotel that's literally just steps away from the Keisei Ueno station, is also centrally located and is very close to the Ueno station that serves the Hibiya metro line, the Ginza metro line and the JR. As well, I was happy to be close to a plethora of food choices, shopping (including tax-free for tourists), Ueno Park, and convenience stores for quick grabs. Shout-out to the cleaning staff who did an amazing job of cleaning my room, most likely on a short turnaround. I really appreciated receiving new towels everyday in the APA bag that was hung outside my door - it felt like receiving gifts! Every floor of the hotel has water dispensers which was god-send for me because I was super dehydrated from being sick and needed water throughout the nights. Thank you APA Hotel Keisei Ueno Ekimae Minami!"
