"The hotel is clearly at the beginning of a new journey which will be very interesting to follow as the property has lots of character, is steeped in history and is being beautifully restored and although is a work in progress, don’t let this put you off as the hotel is very charming and beautiful inside. An excellent warm welcome by the host/owner and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed for one night as a couple as part of our trip around Scotland and our sea view room was exceptionally decorated, full of character and was very comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was included in the price as standard and the owner had obviously gone to a lot of trouble as there was more than enough choice, the individual cafetière of coffee being a lovely touch. Would definitely recommend this hotel"

"no communication with the host, not needed. A lot of attention to detail to make the stay comfortable, viz. the hot water bottles. I would have liked a bigger bath towel and one that was more absorbent. Otherwise, a comfortable place to stay."

"A really impressive building - we’ve passed by before and always hoped to stay here. The building is quirky and has so much going for it… probably several £££ million to bring it up to 4* standards, but the staff were super friendly and the room we were assigned was brilliant and had lovely views over the port. Also accommodated for our dog which was really appreciated. The restaurant served a great dinner too and the Scottish breakfast gave us a cracking start on our onward journey. Thank you !"

"A beautiful cottage with a lovely garden. Well equipped kitchen, we had everything we needed to self cater. One of the cleanest cottages I have stayed in and very comfy bed. Lovely host and excellent communication."

"We’ve stayed in this lodge many years now, something new or updated every year. Lovely new patio windows this year. Always clean with everything you might need. Fabulous views and many deer sightings. Food and entertainment at Hunters Arena very good too"

"Could not fault Loch View lodge. Lesley and Andrew were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble. Everything you need is there, and more. Even the folder with instructions for everything is so detailed. Lesley is available if you need anything. Would return"

"A beautiful guest house with a beautiful view across the water. The bedroom had a lovely sea view , comfortable bed and a lovely en-suite bathroom. There were many little extras but I particularly liked the Dunoon fine bone china cups , saucers and teapot a delightful way to enjoy a cuppa. Ken is a great host and seems to think of everything to make your stay comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and a good choice available. We also enjoyed using the comfortable lounge which again had that wonderful sea view and were lucky enough to watch porpoises feeding offshore. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend the Douglas Park Guest house."

"The cabin is in a good, quiet location on the village with a good view. Easy self check-in. Cabin nicely furnished and very clean. Comfy beds ensured a good nights sleep. Close to local facilities in Dunoon and plenty to see in the surrounding area. I would suggest you take your own towels. Our second visit."
