"Standard room had view to back of building, so private and quiet. Not possible to adjust heating, so too stuffy at night. No fridge or biscuits in room. Bathroom had very good shower and lighting. Sufficient storage and hangers in room, but limited sockets and had to plug in kettle next to tv. Breakfast was good, but could do with more coffee machines. Parking reasonably priced and directly behind hotel. Swimming pool a big bonus, but the bins were full and needed emptying. I would stay here again as it is so convenient for visiting Durham, and for parking. The staff were also very helpful. "

"Firstly it took over 10minutes for receptionist to come over and give us our key for room. She was also working on the bar, so reception was unmanned. It took the third attempt of ringing bell before we were seen to. Considering we had an accessible room it was tiny and one side of the bed was a few inches from the wall. Bathroom was adequate with a walkin showr, though no bath mat was provider to step out on to."

"Lovely location near Hexham with stately home vibes and comfortable bedrooms. The bar overlooks the golf course and has lots of nooks and crannies to settle in with a glass of whatever to people watch. The restaurant has a very good menu and the staff are attentive and make sure all is OK with your meal. Breakfast is self serve with full platters of tasty food. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

"Hotel staff member told me upon arrival that my room had changed from a double to a twin with no apology and was incredibly surly with me when I dealt with them later that evening."

"Brilliant stay! The staff were very friendly and attentive and were happy to upgrade my room free of charge after requesting a room with a bath. The room (27) was spacious and clean and the bed comfortable. The bathroom was clean and shower had a good water pressure. The food at the restaurant was great and reasonably priced (pork cutlet and espresso creme brulee highly recommended). The booking offered a complementary breakfast of toast, jams, yoghurt, cereals, fruit etc and had a decent selection. Really nice walking/running routes behind the hotel leading off into the countryside also. Its a pity that hotel customers are not allowed to use the gym and pool however without paying extra for it. This was not made clear upon booking and I was slightly disappointed by this. Also would be nice to ditch the small single use toiletry minis and opt for more eco friendly shampoo/shower gel refill dispensers in the shower. Overall great stay and would 100% come back when next working in the area."
