From Timbertop Saddle on the Howqua Hills Road, it is almost 3kms uphill on a pretty trail to Mt Timbertop. Passing through Eucalyptus forest for the first 2 ams then onto a clear area with stunning views over the Mansfield plains and across to the Mt Buller region. A final, short, scramble over rocks to the summit... and such a gorgeous place to be! We hung hammocks and slept overnight amongst the snow gum trees. The ridge is only about 100 metres long and maybe 20 metres wide...
