"Nice rooms with room for 3/4 fairly comfortably but a bit old fashioned. Nice bathroom with powerful shower. Ideal stay for families, though couples without children may find the brasserie areas rather noisy and chaotic. Menu also limited and geared to families. Excellent breakfast! Most staff are very friendly and helpful, though problems at check in due to staff mistakes. Advertised as Free Paking, but apparently only if booked directly with the hotel. Often no staff at the bar and so long wait."

"Hotel ideally situated at Motorway junction so very easy access, however no greenery around it so nowhere relaxing to chill outside after a long journey. The fancier of the building is beginning to look a little run down as the woodwork needs replacing in many areas. However the pool & gym facilities are excellent & staff friendly & helpful, so for this alone I would return."

"Stunning building that has been maintained to stay as authentic as possible. Our room was a good size with an excellent bathroom, full size bath, real treat. The room had everything we needed for our short break. Decent sized tv, tea and coffee facilities and amazingly a small container of real milk, bath robes, small fridge. Ok, there isn’t air conditioning but I suspect it wouldn’t be allowed planning permission on such an iconic building. Fans are provided. Personally I would have liked it if we could open the windows wider without the restrictive measures, I understand the sentiment, but even on the second floor you couldn’t do yourself much damage falling out! The spa and pool were very pleasant. We used the pool, jacuzzi and steam room a few times, unfortunately the sauna was closed for repairs but no matter. It was very quiet in the afternoons with only a couple of other guests. Breakfast is a continental buffet and an ordered hot dish. Excellent restaurant staff, nothing too much trouble. We ate in the bar one evening and enjoyed the light menu. The over riding stand out point of this hotel are the staff. From arrival through to every department we encountered we received nothing but superb service and friendly approach. Highly recommend a stay here."

"Fantastic cottage, great addition of the private pool, lovely setting Ray and Julie are lovely hosts. Would highly recommend if yiu are looking for a real hidden gem. Ideal for walkers or just to relax. Will definitely be going back"
