"B&B by the sea is essentially a B&b even if there is a restaurant on site. We had room 12 which turned out to be a 2 bedroom apartment with a balcony facing the ocean. The view was spectacular and it was very nice for the three of us to have two separate bedrooms. The room came with a breakfast buffet. I had expected a “ continental “ kind of setup but it was much more and turned out to be very nice with a large variety of offerings."
ICV SleepWell

"We booked ICV SleepWell shortly before our July 2026 trip because of its convenient location near the Hirtshals ferry terminal. ICV is a modern facility with accommodation, sports facilities, and an excellent swimming area. The pool is a real highlight, with a slide, massage pools, and a family sauna. It was not crowded during our stay, giving children plenty of space to play, and the price felt reasonable compared with larger Danish water parks. The location in Vrå is convenient, with walking distance to a few shops, a train station. Parking, and EV charging is available. Hjørring and Aalborg are easily reached by train. There are a few minor drawbacks. Like many places in this region, there is no air conditioning. Our room became warm because the sunshades had not been lowered before arrival, and tower fans could be a useful improvement. A few insects entered through open windows, but this was not a major issue. The room lacked a refrigerator and had limited luggage space. Mobile reception was weak with Telenor Denmark. Breakfast was simple but good and self-service. The reception also offers basic meals and snacks. Overall, ICV SleepWell is a very good choice, especially for families or travelers needing a convenient stop near Hirtshals. The swimming facilities, modern surroundings, and location are the main strengths. We would probably stay here again."

"This property is in a quiet place that is a nice walk to the ocean. As it’s self service check in, I was relieved that I got help calling a taxi for the port! This was just a lovely respite!!"
Hotel Phønix Hjørring

"This is an older historic hotel in a less touristy part of Jutland. The halls in particular show age and smell musty. On the other hand our room smelled fine. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom had been updated. The breakfast was complete and tasty with a number of options. Overall the Hotel Phønix is a good choice for Hjørring. We would stay there again."

"Lovely room and staff. Booked this just for one night as a stop over before the Hirtshals ferry and worked out well. Room was bigger than I was expecting with a hall and big bathroom. Restaurant was buzzing which was great to see."

"They do have rooms with better view, but I did not find them through Hotels doc com, even so, it was still gorgeous. Also the bed and the covers/pillows were outstanding. I slept like a rock. The room was a tad too bare in some respects, e.g. no holder for soap and shampoo in the shower, but plenty of outlets, lights and accompanying switches and a nice large screen tv. Breakfast was solid and kept me well going for the day"

"I stayed in this hotel because it was convenient and affordable option from the ferry at Hirshals I was taking the next day. Only about a 20 minute drive to the ferry. Check in was easy once I figured out that you check into the restaurant, they were very helpful and nice. from the place I checked in, I drove down the street to the parking garage and then walked a short distance to the hotel which my room was down the street from the restaurant , where everything is opened with a keypad. The room is very small, but clean. There aren’t a lot of options if you’re taking the ferry the next day that are at this price point, so for that I would stay here again. It was a Thursday night, so there wasn’t a lot going on, not really a lot offood options at night, but a couple small bars were open. Overall, it did the job."
