"I never saw an image of the exterior of the building in the advertisement on Expedia. I never read that access to the upper floor was via a steep staircase which made carrying two suitcases to one’s room difficult. The place appears to be managed by the Wat Hotel next door but without access to the Wat’s facilities. The walls between the rooms were such that one could plainly hear conversations next door. The room was fine but the experience frankly disappointing."

"This was my favorite accommodation in Japan. It was very cozy and made me feel home. We had the Sennari room. There were 4 beds in two rooms but we only used two. There was a microwave, fridge, kitchen sink with dishes/soap, washer/dryer, kitchen table, sofa. It was two levels with bedrooms upstairs. We never saw our host. It was self check in with a code. It was located in a great area. We were able to walk to and from the train with our luggage. There were several restaurants and shopping very...

"Pro’s - clean, spacious accommodation within walking distance of the train station and traditional streets.
Con’s - no air conditioning in the bedrooms."

""I absolutely loved my stay here! The apartment is brand new, spotless, and fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. The check-in and check-out process was incredibly smooth. Best of all, the location is unbeatable—just a short walk to the train station and Nohi Bus Center, yet it remains very quiet and peaceful at night. I would definitely stay here again!"

"What a perfectly lovely stay. This was not tbe most luxurious place that we stayed at in Japan but the one we enjoyed the most . This is a traditional Japanese ryokan - so you sleep on mattresses on the tatami mats on the floor. The traditional table seating is also at floor level. Hard on those knees 😄the reason we loved this stay was the staff. They were so super helpful and there were so many thoughtful touches everyday in this place, it truly felt like we visited family - the kind you enjoy visiting ! The private onsen on the 5th floor was nice as well.
Loved our takayama visit and this stay rounded out the town perfectly!"
"Enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Friendly staff. Note they only take cash for the tax at check in. The use of the private baths was fanastic and we didn't have to wait too long even at the busiest times. Note that they close earlier than stated for cleaning in the day. Our room was great and enjoyed the free green tea, ice creams and marshmallows in the lounge area. Good location quite near the station. Booked a massage, which was a fully clothed massage in my room. Thought the times for massages were quite late!"
"The hotel over all well maintained and clean! Great location! But, becareful of the hotel beef dinner. We ordered it for one with beef and one with fish which was ordered it 3 months ago. On the day of arrival the front desk staff told me they don't have fish that day. We want to cancel the dinner, they said there will be No refund for canceling! I asked for chicken or pork instead, because I don't eat beef. They told me again no chicken and no pork. I can only have the side dish and no refund for without main course? I am not happy anout it! There was unfair to me! I would not want to stay with this hotel again!"
"Overall a nice hotel with a nice onsen. Fairly close to the train and close to grocery stores. Downside is it’s very loud as it’s right next to a highway."
"We like the location of the property because it is so close to the bus station and the train station, restaurants and sightseeing areas. The complementary drinks in the room refrigerator and the lobby was most appreciated. We only wished it was a little more accessible from street in to the lobby as the hotel was on the 2nd floor."
"The hotel room was spacious. The room was separate from the kitchenette. We had un-room washer dryer. It's also convenient that the bathroom are separated.
Staff at registration were helpful and friendly, esp Nao.
We like the front patio in front of the lobby entrance where you sit, relax and watch people walk by.
Next door to train station and bus to Shirakawago and other places. Will stay again and recommend to friends."
