"We were offered reusable water bottle that we did use and take with us, the restaurant /bar closed too early for us to get back for a nightcap after dinner in town so we didn't use our "free drink coupons" but nice touch. great view from our balcony, check in staff/front desk/bell person all helpful. the property seems a bit "worn" but oh, those views.....easy parking for our rental car."
Hilo Reeds Bay Hotel

"This is an older hotel, no a/c or elevator, still uses keys, looks beat down from the hallway. Nice clean pool and direct access to some lava rock tide pools. TBH the view of the bay and the sound of the waves made it worth it- but I’d sleep in my car for that sound! Microwave and fridge came in handy. A low cost option for Hilo."
SCP Hilo Hotel

"The SCP Hilo is a cute motel with a nice lobby and pool area. The staff are amazing-helpful and kind. The fitness area just has two Peloton bikes which is not great for those of us who don’t like biking, but I knew this before making a reservation. The bikes and paddle boards available for guests is a nice touch. The room itself is quite basic and a little small for more than two people, but it was comfortable."

"Host was very responsive, property was very comfy and remarkably equipped for our family stay. We hope to be back in November and possibly April of next year! Thank you for such a seamless experience. One suggestion, a monthly or bi-monthly pest treatment for the beetles would be a well spent effort. But it didn’t stop us from enjoying the home. We’re from here and are used to it."
