"Good hotel if you're visiting the races and need somewhere to stay, although overpriced in my opinion."

"Very basic but even for the price the rooms were dusty. Cobwebs hanging off the walls. We had two nights due to a local wedding. Asked to move rooms because the mattress was terrible. Was told all the mattresses are the same and getting upgraded in the winter. Changed rooms, slightly better mattress. Even for a cheap night I'd expect no cobwebs / dust and a decent mattress. Won't go again."

"The location is good and not too far away from city centre. Although the amenities of the room were dated, they were well maintained. Nice dining area for an ordinary English breakfast but I found they don’t serve whole milk! Overall, I have a good experience there and may consider to visit again."

"This was our second visit to The Milner and we will definitely be returning again. It's a beautiful hotel with plenty of facilities and is ideal if your traveling by train as it is right next door to York Railway Station with direct access. The staff are amazing, very friendly and welcoming. We loved our stay!"

"Dated room , smelled of smoke , the bathroom door lock was broken . Noise from room next door from 3-4 am . Hotel doesn’t do food , we didn’t know we had to pay for parking that was another £15. We were only there from 9 pm till before 8 am the next day . Wouldn’t return "
