The most perfect start to our holiday - a couple of days to recharge and relax at The Thatch House. Staff were superb in every respect and the hotel itself was just the most amazing place to be. We loved everything from start to finish and didn’t want to leave! THE best!

Thatch House Heaven

The Thatch House is a stunning property, which has a fantastic standard of decor, and ambiance. The staff are well drilled, knowledgeable and friendly. The pool is a haven in the hot weather, plus the lagoon is available for kyaks and paddle boards

My wife and I stayed in the Thatch House with our 11 month old baby. At the last minute, my in-laws also happened to be in Hermanus, unfortunately the Thatch House was fully booked but the staff were very helpful in arranging for them to join us for dinner and drinks at the hotel both nights. We had a wonderful stay and they were very accommodating of our young daughter - we particularly want to thank Michaela, who was so friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is beautiful and set in immaculate grounds with stunning views. The pool was very welcome after a hot day in Hermanus and both the restaurant and breakfast were excellent.

An Exclusive and Memorable Stay: A Perfect Family

A beautiful and exclusive place, we had a fantastic stay with the kids. Amazing view from our suite and a boutique hotel vibe, away from mass tourism. Excellent and attentive service. The food was very good with high-quality ingredients. Everything was top-notch and of great quality.

Die Lage des Hotels ist einmalig, ebenso das Haus selbst. Für dies klare 5 Sterne, wie für das Essen. Mein Problem waren Insekten (nur) im Bett des zweiten Schlafzimmers und wie das Management damit umgegangen ist. 1. Manager: Die Insekten sind harmlos, wir wechseln das Bettzeug 2. Manager: Die Insekten stechen, wir müssen Chemie einsetzen 3. Manager: Durch den See sind die Insekten allgegenwertig, man muss damit leben. Fazit: Das Bett konnte nicht benutzt werden, mit ca. 200 keinen Insekten teile ich kein Bett. Das Verhalten des Managements war mehr als seltsam. Eine Entschädigung für die Nichtbenutzung des zweiten Raumes (Bett) wurde abgelehnt.
