"My stay at JW Marriott Hotel Zhengzhou was mixed. There were some genuinely positive aspects, especially the front desk staff and housekeeping team, but there were also several disappointing experiences that affected my overall impression.
The first negative impression happened on our arrival day. We had two very large pieces of luggage, and the first thing I remember is that the doorman saw us and seemed to run back into the building instead of helping us. At first, I thought maybe they were not actually hotel staff. But after staying for multiple days, it seemed clear that they were hotel workers. I am still not sure why they reacted that way. Maybe it was because our luggage was oversized, or because we arrived in a dirty cargo vehicle instead of a luxury sedan.
A similar situation happened again on another day. My friend and I were in Zhengzhou for some cycling activities, and one day we rode more than 100 km. After such a long ride, we were extremely exhausted. Because it was difficult to find a vehicle that could fit two bicycles, we had to call another cargo van to bring us back to the hotel. When we arrived at the hotel entrance, the doorman approached the driver and tried to direct us to the basement for unloading. It did not feel welcoming at all. Since it was already nighttime and we were completely worn out, we really just wanted to get out of the vehicle at the front door and return to our room.
