The location was amazing! The walls were so thin and there are so many gaps in the doors and windows we could hear the people in the neighboring rooms clear as day and they were talking normally. It also wasn't overly clean and could use some updating.
We had no complaints with the room. It was in a good location and everyone was very nice. The only issue was the people above us that came in on Friday made alot of noise. It sounded like they were dragging furniture across the floor between 4 and 5 in the morning. I would stay there again.
our initial condo (703) , The ratings on VRBO were decent so I decided to look at the actual website and was shocked at the poor ratings, so I called the manager and upon hearing my concerns, she moved me to condo number 12, which was immaculate, updated, beautiful everything I hoped it would be and more. Walking distance to everything.

Make sure you bring some slippers. The floor was COLD to the point our socks weren’t enough. No hot water in bathroom sink. No blow dryer no iron. TV (Direct TV) didn’t half work.

Disliked: Amenities
Overall, I was pleased with this day. It was very walkable to downtown Helen which is what we wanted. However, there are things that could be improved very easily.
There were no amenities in the room at all - no hand soap or toiletries of any kind. We were able to stop at the front desk the next day for a few mini bars of soap, but it's the first time I've ever had a rental like that without any toiletries whatsoever & only soap available after asking.
I don't have any real complaints about the room, but it has been oddly maintained... The walls and some of the fixtures have been painted really sloppily and it just makes it look worse than it really is. Also, the TV was a PIA to figure out. There were zero instructions of any kind. There were no kind of internet access codes or passwords. There was a DirecTV remote, but we never did figure out how to actually get to DirecTV & we're both pretty intelligent with plenty of technology experience.
There is also zero instructions of any kind to do with how the room should be left - i.e. dirty towels in the tub, dishes washed, etc.
A sheet of paper with some simple instructions, expectations, etc would have been very helpful.
The heat didn’t work. We called the rental office, he checked we were using the heater correctly, agreed it wasn’t working and called HVAC repair. They had one other room as an option but it only had 1 bed. We asked and were advised we could get blankets in the rental office. We had a very cold night in the room as the repairman wasnt coming until the next day. We left for the day and upon returning back noted a slight improvement however it was still very cold. We called and were advised that it had been repaired. I requested he come see for himself and this time he brought space heater. He proceeded to tell us that it was that the heater was working fine. We asked that he leave the space heater (very irritated that he didn’t bring it or offer it the first night). The space heater ran on high (90 degrees) all night and only got to 71. We kept the space heater the rest of the trip.
There are several other issues. This is listed as a 1 bedroom. It is a studio, not a 1 bedroom. All living space is open with the bathroom the only separate room.
The only window and sliding glass door are both open to for anyone walking by to look right in, so there is no privacy so the shades had to be kept closed.
It is very loud. You hear everything in room 703a and loud noises consistently from upstairs.
The main door is a regular door with no deadbolt (not a fire door) and there is another door with a lock that you don’t get a key to and don’t know where it goes or who can get in.
