Motel One Brussels
10/10 Excellent
"Centrally located on Rue Royale, Motel One is about 7 minutes walk from the Grand Place. It's less than that to other places of interest such as Mont des Arts, Magritte's Museum and the Royal Palace. The tram and buses run down Rue Royale and Brussels Central train station is less than 10 minutes away. The foyer with it's floor to ceiling windows is large, welcoming and well laid out with lots of areas to relax and enjoy a drink from the bar. Be that a coffee, tea, something soft or alcoholic. There was a range of wines, cocktails, mocktails and beers. I had coffee a few times and it was really great. The staff were very professional and attentive, helping out with information on things to do, ordering taxis and such. There were 3 main lifts by the bar and others located at either end. The hallways were nice and bright and the carpets were clean. The room I stayed in was on the 5th floor. Whilst small, it was clean, neat and tidy. The window opened fully and had a glass, waist-height barrier for safety. The bed was really comfortable and meant a decent night's sleep after a fun filled day. It had a TV and safe, though no fridge, kettle or iron. You could ask for an iron, if needed. Breakfast was optional and I had chosen not to include this on my trip as I rarely eat in the morning. My friends did have breakfast and said it was continental style."

"Nice and diligent staff. Great brekfast. Rooms are comfy enough. The hotel is located steps away from the Grand Place, restaurants and shops, and the train station. Several relevant Brussels landmarks are at walking distance. Definitely a very good choice when staying in Brussels."

"Very clean, safe and friendly hotel. Close to a lot of restaurants and shops and almost all attractions. 5 minutes walking distance to everything. Rooms are very good size with sofa beds. Liked it a lot and would definitely stay here again."
Novotel Brussels off Grand'Place

"This was such a wonderful hotel! The location was fantastic (10-15 mins for quite literally any and everything in the main area). The room was comfortable for a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids, 8&10). The staff were all extremely kind and helpful. My daughter lost a wiggly tooth and they helped me coordinate a little treat and note from “the Belgium tooth fairy” which was just precious and absolutely made a core memory for her trip. They had little bears and cards for the kids and foosball that entertained the kids while the adults enjoyed delicious beers. On our way out, the staff gave us exact direction to catch our train to Amsterdam which we greatly appreciated. Without a doubt, we will stay here again for our next trip to Brussels."

"Very good location, close to public transport. Friendly and accommodating staff. Fast and efficient self check in and check out services. The rooms were well kept, had great air conditioning and decent shower. Breakfast buffet had plenty of options and the quality of food was excellent. The gym has a good selection of dumbbells, machines and cardio equipment. Would stay here again and I would recommend staying here."

"The hotel was spacious and very clean. Staff were friendly and professional. We heard the breakfast is amazing but for 20 euros a person this was more than we were willing to spend. Also the area Brussels Midi is not a good area, directly across from the train station and very sketchy and lots of homeless and people on drugs. We didn’t feel safe walking after dark. Also very dirty, lots of littering in the streets."

"We appreciated the early check in but there’s no AC in the room, which made it difficult to sleep. Not safe keeping the window open (it’s ground floor - someone can walk in!). Btw the lobby bar didn’t have a wine opener for us to enjoy our French wine in our room before we left. I had to walk to the Standard to get the bottle opened, which was awkward. Not penalizing them for that but odd."
