"Check in was a wait but it was busy and the receptionist was nice. £13 a night for parking which I was not aware of.
I booked a premium king room with lounge access. The room was an interjoining room and we had very noisy next door neighbours banging and shouting. Walls were very thin - didn’t feel very private. It wasn’t a king bed - it was beds pushed together. The pillowcase had a hole in it but the bed(s)/ bedding were comfy. The room wasn’t big - as it was my first stay I wondered whether it was actually a premium room - as the premiums were meant to be larger. The bathroom was ok. The toilet you had to flush a few times, the tap for the sink is fixed in a place that caused it to spill water and there was a stained bath mat in the bath. The mini fridge was gd with water. We also had biscuits tea coffee. I thought we were going to have a view but 3/4 of the curtains covered a wall and only 1/4 had a window which showed a bit of the river.
I would’ve used the gym - didn’t know where it was - weren’t told and there was no information in the room. I also had to google breakfast times.
We had lounge access. It was packed in the evening but a gd area. There were a gd selection of drinks & canapés - but they weren’t covered and there were several bluebottles on the food. I would recommend getting lids or covers.
Breakfast was nice. A huge spread and everything we had was tasty. Staff were fab.
It was ok! Pricey for what it was in my opinion."
"The hotel was a 5/5. A positive experience all round. The cleanliness of the hotel was the best we have been to for a while. The staff were friendly and helpful. The pool and gym facilities with the stay were free of charge which was amazing to use. The location is great to get to and from the city centre by car. There is a £7 charge for parking overnight. The room is spacious, fan available when hot. Tea and coffee and milk in room plenty for 2 nights. Bathroom was very clean and modern. Very clean and modern hotel over all."
"Great historic inn modernized beautifully. Delicious English breakfast. Wonderful staff. A/C didn’t really work in the room, which made sleeping a tad problematic, but overall we enjoyed the stay!"
"The hotel is very good and should be excellent. Unfortunately, it is let down in one area, the restaurant. We had issues at breakfast on both mornings as did others seated around us. I would describe the breakfast as “chaos”. It is a shame because aside from that the hotel is very good. The check in staff were excellent and the spa is more than adequate."
"I had an overall pleasant stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Cheltenham. The hotel is set in a lovely, peaceful location with beautiful grounds, making it a relaxing place to stay while still being conveniently located for Cheltenham and the surrounding Cotswolds.
The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Check-in was straightforward.
The room was comfortable and spacious, and the bed was particularly comfortable. However, there were a couple of areas that could have been better. The water pressure in the shower was quite weak and could definitely have been stronger. I also noticed some dust around the toilet area, so a little more attention to detail when cleaning the bathroom would have been appreciated.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and found the hotel comfortable and relaxing. With a few improvements to the bathroom cleanliness and shower pressure, it would have been an even better experience."
"We returned from a very busy day at 10.30 to find that our room had not been serviced - we had not opted into the scheme whereby guests can forgo a clean and receive a voucher to be used in the bar. Miguel went out of his way to supply the required teas, coffees towels etc. Thank you for your help Miguel."
