"Wow such a treat having a massive spa bath in our room plus a spa pool on our terrace. The room was huge & very quiet. Maybe the gardens could have been a little more maintained to take advantage of the beautiful snow capped mountains. The restaurant was a little large & stark and kind of felt out of place compared to the intimacy of the rest of the property."

"Such a lovely place, in the perfect position. And what lovely friendly people running the place. I can't speak highly enough of the whole experience down to the warm welcome, the towels for the pool, the great views of the mountains. Perfect fora restful weekend stay for two."

"Apartment was spacious, comfortable, practical, and very clean. Property was walking distance to the shops, the pools, and other Hanmer activities. A fantastic stay!"

"Heater was on when we arrived and the manager was very helpful. We were in a disabled unit and there seems to bean issue with the fan. There is no air conditioning but Goodyear s. The electric blanket on one side of the bed couldn't be turned off without pulling out the electric plug."

"Not suitable if elderly or disabled"

"Larchwood Motel is well located. However it is severely lacking in up-keep and maintenance. Upon entering the unit it was smelly - stale alcohol/smoke. We opened up the room (it was freezing) for 15 minutes or so to air it out. The curtains are shabby and ill fitting on some windows. The bathroom was adequate but again shabby, a soiled towel had been left on the hook from a previous stay. The one positive is that the bedding/beds were clean and crisp.
