"The large light fixture in the lobby that was only suspended by its wiring, next to the glass door with large cracks in it "repaired" with a strip of packing tape, should paint the picture. Things did not improve from there. The owners need to replace the staff and put in a few hundred thousand pounds of refurbishment, or sell the place to an entity that treats a beachfront locale as valuable. While I appreciate the affordable rate, staying there was a frustrating and really just sad experience. I mean, the TV didn't work. In a hotel in England in 2026 the TV didn't work. Think about how much hotel proprietors have to have given up on doing the very basics of their jobs for there to be a non-functioning television in a guest's room. We would have called down to the front desk about it... but there was no telephone."
