"Our room had recently been refurbished and was very nice; comfy bed, good TV, good bathroom and shower. Breakfast was very good with hot and buffet choices. Staff very helpful and friendly."

"I absolutely loved everything to do with this hotel. Karolina and Deb could not do enough for me. Great recommendations from Karolina for dinner on both nights. So helpful in every matter. The gardener and assistant chef Mario was amazing, he took great pride in showing me the garden and explaining the lovely surrounding region. Great, great value, I cannot wait to return. Wow!"

"Lovely country hotel in the centre of the island surrounded by a well kept garden with a lovely little stream. Our room was well presented and clean. You can choose not to have your room serviced but additional toiletries and beverages are available at reception. The restaurant serves a good choice of dishes, I would recommend booking early if you wish to eat here as it is well frequented by locals and always busy. Last but not least, a shout out to all the staff who were all friendly, helpful and always cheerful."

"The Old Government House is a real gem, combining traditional elegance, luxury and charm with beautiful views over St Peter Port. The location is perfect, and the atmosphere is warm, welcoming and relaxing. What really sets it apart is the attentive, friendly service, which made me feel genuinely valued. A fabulous hotel with real character and a wonderful standard of hospitality. Highly recommended and somewhere I would love to return to!"

"We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay. The hotel is attractively set in large grounds. Our room was large, spotlessly clean and had a small balcony. Every single member of staff we met was welcoming. They went out of their way to engage with us and help -this included the reception, bar & dining and housekeeping staff. The breakfast area was calm and well managed with a good range of options. We chose to take our evening meals in the Terrace Bar. There was a large range of options to choose from and the staff were very helpful - especially Amy who served us very professionally most nights."
