the house was very small but was cozy and comfortable. The outdoor space was lovely, especially the hot tub. It was a bit noisy with neighbors right above and next door at times. We felt it was a bit overpriced for the size and location but we would be happy to visit again. the house was nicely appointed with thoughtful amenities for guests.

Excellent Getaway

The Vlack Nest was perfect for our weekend getaway. Close to the river, the city, and hard everything we needed for our stay. For anyone wishing to stay, highly recommend this place and the price point was perfect for our needs. Please note that there is a closet in the bedroom, it's behind the curtain haha!

Perfect Honeymoon Stay!

Having stayed at many a short term rental, there are three simple yet crucial things that make a stay go from good to great: clean digs, comfortable beds, and quality linens. The Black Nest has all of these things and much more. The location is serene, the amenities are quality (hot tub & fire pits especially), and there’s plenty to do in and around the area. We had a wonderful stay for our mini honeymoon in Sonoma County. Choose the Black Nest for your next Russian River getaway - I know we will!

Great getaway weekend!

Had the pleasure of staying at this property for 3 nights with my spouse. We LOVED our time here. The house is a perfect size, cozy, and in a great location. We spent the weekend exploring the towns nearby, as well as, the Mendocino coast. We have already talked about staying here again!

Amazing little bungalow in the redwoods!

My husband and I booked a two week stay here, the property was absolutely amazing! Great interior design, the exterior gardens were also elegantly put together and serene. We enjoyed the fantastic hot tub in the evenings. Plus, it's all conveniently just a mile away from everything in downtown Guerneville. Will definitely stay again!

Love this place!

Beautifully decorated, perfect location to downtown Guerneville. The hot tub was a nice bonus. My best friend and I stayed here for a Bestie getaway weekend and we didn’t want to leave! Great place for two friends or a couple.

Gorgeous place!

The house is stunning, as are the surroundings. Very convenient to the river, restaurants, hiking and wineries. Even with such great proximity, the position of the house makes it feel very private and secluded. We loved getting takeout and enjoying dinner and wine outside. Definitely recommend!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We live in San Jose and visited for the weekend. We were immediately struck with how beautiful and well appointed this rental was. Everything was decorated very nicely and we enjoyed every minute. We had a down pour of rain while there, but don't let that make you decide not to go. We enjoyed our wine and the hot tub even while it was raining because they thoughtfully covered the hot tub area with a canopy. Highly recommend staying here!

Cozy and tastefully equipped

Black Nest is conveniently located and tastefully decorated. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the property. The hosts were welcoming and had a small bag of supplies for s’mores which our kids really enjoyed. Though the property is small, it’s well equipped and we had everything we needed. It’s conveniently located with easy access to downtown and the beach. Our kids specially enjoyed the hot tub and outdoor heaters that made for a fun evening activity with s’mores.

Great location for a weekend away

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My partner and I spent a long weekend at The Black Nest, and overall I would recommend it for its great location and proximity to Guerneville and all of the associated activities. The cottage is just down the road from Guerneville and very easy to run into town for groceries or shopping. It’s also very close to a nice river beach which makes it extremely easy to get all of your gear down to the beach to be able to relax. The cottage is definitely small - I think fitting four people would be a bit of a challenge, but the outside areas around the cottage are great for relaxing and enjoying the sounds of nature. The hot run was wonderful as well. Overall, the place could do with a bit of a deeper clean. While we are in the woods, the sky lights and beams in the ceiling are covered with cobwebs. Additionally, the bath mat was dirty when we arrived. Lastly, the front gate does not latch all the way so we had to use a rock to keep it closed while we were homeOverall, I would definitely recommend this place to a friend and would probably come back and stay here myself as well.

Fantastic, well-appointed romantic getaway

The overall size of the Black Nest is perfect for a 2-person romantic getaway. Though, many would call it cozy, I feel I would say it had no wasted space. It was just enough for two adults to have a romantic weekend: not too small, not too big. 4 adults? Not so much, unless you are rarely there or are very close. Well-appointed, with a gorgeously appointed kitchen. Everything was black and gold, and the utensils for cooking were plentiful. Enough pots and pans and mixing bowls and cutting boards for us to cook dinner and breakfast. The bed was comfortable, with great sheets and bedding. Soft and quality. The overall bedroom was small, but again, well appointed in a minimalist sense, and it felt so vary romantic. We could lounge there for hours, and it felt luxurious and unique. The bathroom could use a shelf or place to put your makeup bag, but overall it was cute, quality, and had great water pressure. I also like that it is at the back of the house, and away from the bedroom and main area. The gas fire pit was nice in the evening. Parking was across the street, and a bit limited. If you have a giant full-sized truck, you may be reaching the limit of parking in the two stalls provided.
