"Very clean, very welcoming, beautifully decorated 200-yr-old property (with attendant creaks, steep staircases, steps up to each bathroom, and fewer electrical outlets than one would find in a recently-built property).Communication with the host was simply outstanding!Easy walk to town, with lovely historic buildings, a square, shops and multiple small restaurants.The living room, dining room, and three of the bedrooms are huge, and updated. The fourth is a smaller, simpler, darker space in the rear addition, that was perhaps a nursery, or a servant's quarters. Unfortunately, guests from one of the front bedrooms have to walk through this space to access the bathroom, so parties planning on using all four bedrooms should be aware of this.Small tidy kitchen.Large, welcoming enclosed porch in the rear.Just a couple caveats: the house is very close to the major thoroughfare in town, so although it is not a major highway, one still hears traffic noise very clearly: ear plugs are strongly recommended for sleeping. Also, the driveway is a narrow grass and dirt track, posing a challenge for rolling suitcases."

"Old hotel with a lot of history and character. 150 years old approx, but celebrated 100 years in July of current name. Not for everyone, but lots of charm, in a fun little downtown area. Staff were great, rooms are "old fashioned" (even keys for the doors). But fun nostalgia"

"Desk staff was excellent and got us into our room early which was greatly appreciated. Location is close to downtown and all the shops and restaurants. The room was spacious, very clean and the larger style refrigerator came in handy. Will continue to stay at the Sherwood every time we stay in Wellsboro. Also the most reasonably price room in the area."

"Fountain View II was a great place to stay, very clean and comfortable. We loved its location on the green in Wellsboro. We had fun walking around town looking at all the beautiful, old houses, and it’s especially lovely in the fall. The main reason for our trip was to see the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania, and we appreciated the proximity to both state parks. We also really loved reading about the history of the building and how it had changed over the years."

"The house is very nice and spacious. The host is very generous, including rare amenities such as a water cooler and a large stack of wood to burn. The location is amazing. Situated between the restaurants and shopping in Wellsboro and the state parks towards Galeton made this house top notch. My wife and I would definitely rent this house again. We loved our visit to the area and felt the house really impacted our enjoyment of the trip."
