"The property is just as described... four cozy A-Frames (5th being built), owned and operated by a very lovely family. Highlights: The gardens and home cooking are every bit as good as all the other reviews attest! We also enjoyed the jungle trek. Challenges: It's hard to criticize a place when the cost is so low. But worth noting a couple of points; A/ this place is very remote! Best if you have your own transportation (bike). Grab is about 200k to the Munduk waterfall trek each...

"Die Cabins sind neu, mit Sicht auf den See, liegen mitten in den Gemüsefeldern und leider etwas abgelegen. Es ist deshalb zu empfehlen, mit dem eigenen Auto anzureisen (wir hatten einen privaten Fahrer und kamen deshalb abends nicht von dort weg, um essen zu gehen. Die Gastgeber haben uns Nasi Goreng und Pommes in der Cabin serviert). Die Cabins liegen auf 1200 müM und es wird abends sehr frisch. Warme Kleidung ist zu empfehlen. "Our stay at Ayung Resort was one of the highlights of our Southeast Asia trip. We stayed at around seven different properties, and this was easily our favorite. The villa exceeded our expectations and looked exactly like the photos—no misleading editing like we experienced at some other places in Bali. The beautiful hand-carved wooden details throughout the room gave it an authentic Balinese feel while still feeling truly luxurious. The location was perfect. Instead of staying in the busy, crowded Ubud Palace area, we were surrounded by lush forest with the soothing sound of the Ayung River. Waking up to monkeys peacefully going about their morning in the trees was a memorable experience. The resort grounds are large, beautifully landscaped, and impeccably maintained. Housekeeping was outstanding—the room was spotless every day, and water, toiletries, towels, and everything else were replenished without us ever needing to ask. The buggy service was always quick, and every staff member we met was warm, professional, and genuinely helpful. We also had the seafood dinner one evening, and it was one of the best meals of our trip. Breakfast was good, although after several mornings the selection became a little repetitive. Overall, this is what true luxury feels like: beautiful surroundings, authentic Balinese craftsmanship, exceptional service, and attention to every detail. Every dollar felt well spent, and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommended for any"

"Always an amazing experience at this hotel. Spacious rooms, extremely helpful staff. Great food. And of course the elephant experiences. The hotel had to react to the government disallowing elephant rides, and they added several new experiences. A few things such as the light switches, AC control etc. are a bit aged by now, but that doesn't take away from the overall top rating."

"Beautiful piece of heaven in Northern part of Ubud... although 45 minutes further than the center of Ubud and all the activities and sightseeing but definitely worth the drive. The most beautiful pool in Ubud . Gorgeous property, amazing staff, great restaurants and food options, nightly entertainment. Just amazing."

"Located on the steep hills on the outskirts of Ubud, we chose this hotel based solely on its location and the photos we found online. As with any booking made from pictures alone, your imagination inevitably starts to paint a picture of what the hotel and its surroundings might actually be like. The road leading to the hotel is narrow—at times it feels as though there's barely enough room for the taxi to pass. Winding through rice fields and dense jungle, the journey itself builds a sense of anticipation. Eventually, you arrive at the hotel entrance, where a gently sloping driveway leads down to the reception area, offering your first glimpse of what awaits. We arrived late in the evening, making it difficult to fully appreciate the setting at first. Even so, it immediately felt like a hidden jungle retreat, and the atmosphere was simply breathtaking. The pool area, located a short walk down from the reception, is undoubtedly the jewel in the hotel's crown. Perched above a deep ravine and surrounded by lush tropical jungle, it offers spectacular views and an overwhelming sense of peace and tranquillity. The rooms are spread throughout the property, connected by pathways that wind through the lush gardens. Although the resort has more than 70 rooms and villas, it never feels crowded. Instead, the layout creates a sense of privacy and seclusion. Our room wasn't particularly large, but it certainly wasn't small either. For two people, it was just the right size, with everyt"
