I recently stayed at the Super 8 by Wyndham Kutztown and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience.
I arrived around 8:30 PM and found that there was no staff on-site. Instead, I was required to use a self-service kiosk to check in. I had already completed the online check-in and entered my payment information in advance specifically to make the process quick and easy, but the kiosk still took about 12 minutes to complete.
The room itself was in poor condition. The flooring was peeling, the desk chair was broken, and the toilet ran continuously throughout the night. Water pressure was also very weak. The towels were coarse and uncomfortable, and the toiletries provided were low quality.
Additionally, the entire lobby smelled strongly of marijuana upon arrival. The TV remote in the room did not work, which added to the frustration.
One of the main reasons I chose this hotel was because both the hotel’s website and the listing on Hotels.com indicated that electric vehicle charging was available on-site. However, the charger was not functioning. When I attempted to get assistance through the kiosk, I was told they could not turn it on or resolve the issue.
I have stayed at other Super 8 locations before and have never had an experience this poor. Unfortunately, the only positive part of this stay was checking out.
