This property has both good and bad attributes. We were here for six weeks so we can rate it honestly and we lived on the island for four years so we know Madeira well.First the good. The cleaning ladies are amazing and I felt like it was clean. It’s literally right on Monumental, so you can walk daily for living… walk to grocery stores, restaurants, the lido and the beach. I find a lot of beds hard on Madeira and I requested a topper and got one and it made the bed comfortable. Now the part now one talks about. I found the property to be poorly equipped. The cutting board and pans were in such poor condition we actually bought our own and donated them to friends when we left. It’s an extremely small space and the equipment there for cooking is like ‘auntie Mona’s leftovers’. Also, the couch is entirely ugly and gross. For the price you pay for this apartment, please purchase a nice lounge. The shower is extremely small but did offer hot water. We asked for two fans because with No AC the apartment gets hot and we were there in April and May. Normally the apartment has no fan. The balcony is nice but you barely have a view of the sea and monumental is EXTREMELY noisy and the bus stop (which is loud and noisy) is right below you. Bottom line, as a renter, homeowner and landlord— this property I felt was over priced and needed remodeling. That being said…it was clean and communication was good with the host.
