This is our second time staying here. We love the location and view. Stephanie is super nice and makes sure you have everything you need. We will be back!
Great cabin! Quiet, beautiful view! Comfy bed! On the other side of the island from Friday Harbor, so plan your meals ahead of time. Restaurants are mostly in Friday Harbor, so bring your breakfast foods with you!
We loved staying here. Lovely view from the house and location in the forest away from main roads made this a beautiful place to stay. Stephanie was wonderful and so easy to communicate with. Highly recommended! We will be back.
The house has a cabin like feel to it. It is very well equipped for cooking. In the quiet summer
evenings we ate outside on the porch feasting on the view of the Straight of Juan de Fuca watching the ships heading in and out of Vancouver Harbor.
Close to shopping in Friday Harbor and great hikes such as the breathtaking view from Young Hill near the English Camp.
We had the most relaxing stay here and soaked up every bit of that beautiful view. The deck was perfect - I’d wake up early and read while just reveling in the ocean and mountains. The house was so cozy and all we needed - a great location and it was so easy to get to everything. Stephanie was an excellent host - so responsive and helpful. The house was perfectly clean and well stocked - and decorated so well too! We can’t wait to come back!
The rental was so cozy, quiet and clean. It had everything we needed and the view was amazing. It was only a couple minutes from the lookouts that had amazing views. It was also only a couple minutes away from the state park. It was the best vacation I ever had!! I cried when I left! I wanted to stay! We will be back :)
Everything was great, and exactly as described! The only drawback is the steep access road. Cell service is minimal except through Canadian roaming. The Internet works OK but is pretty slow. The big draw is the spectacular view of Haro Strait.
From the moment we arrived until we drove away this property was wonderful! If you want a quiet, peaceful getaway with a spectacular view of the Haro Straits and Vancouver Island this is the place. Hiking shoreline trails, kayaking the surrounding waters, sailing away to find the whales, or hunting for another restaurant, your will find them all within a short drive of this clean and comfortable unit. Tastefully decorated this comfortable gem is hidden away in a forested area of the west side of San Juan Island. Friday Harbor is not to far away, just far enough. A two week stay here was simply wonderful!
Perfect, little getaway house with beautiful view of Haro Strait on quiet, west side of San Juan Island. We never tried of the changing view of clouds over the Olympic Mountains and Vancouver Island from the deck. Just up the road is Lime Kiln State Park with best spot to see orcas or other whales from shore. Lots of nice hikes on the island with our favorite being Mt. Finlayson/Jakle Lagoon and Young's Hill. Only minor downside was spotty WiFi access. Otherwise, everything was perfect.
My wife and I booked this home for our 13th anniversary together, and overall, it was a wonderful stay. The place was very clean and organized. It was also incredibly quiet and serene, so a good night of sleep was guaranteed. You also get spoiled with vibrant sunsets from the deck, and though it's further from Friday Harbor, you're two minutes away from whale watching at Lime Kiln Point.
My only complaint is the WIFI. The signal was spotty every day—any time of day—so it was a chore whenever we needed to book a reservation or check an email. With that said, we'd happily stay here again, as it was a tranquil base for us during this trip.
Everything was wonderful. Great view. Big bath tub. Very deep. Need grab bars and bath mat inside tub. Took a little to figure out how to use hot plates. Need some instructions for TV for technologically challenged like us. Griill was great. Bed and towels first rate. Everything matched. Stephanie . was wonderful host. Had everything we needed in kitchen. Thank you.
We absolutely loved our stay! The home is outside of town, on the west side, tucked away in a secluded area. It is quiet and incredibly peaceful. It was easy to decompress from life's stressers there. The home is well appointed, offering everything you may need while there. We slept great on the king bed in primary, but didn't use the kitchen much. We would've been able to prepare anything needed, even without traditional cooking appliances, but opted for eating out while exploring. The home's location is tucked away and truly perfect if you're looking to escape the sounds and sights of other humans. It's absolutely quiet, beautifully landscaped and easy to find. We found the island easy to navigate and Lime Kiln Park is only minutes away. Amazing. There is no reason to even consider staying elsewhere. We will be back, but this time for a longer stay. Thank you, Stephanie for sharing your slice of heaven with us.
This property is the perfect place to get away and recharge. I loved the always changing views of the ocean and mountains. Every time you looked up the view was completely different. The location of this home was about 15 minutes from everything we wanted to do. We loved cooking breakfasts and dinners as they had everything you could possibly need to make a full meal. I was hesitant with them only having induction plates to cook on but man I feel like they worked better then our stove at home! I do have to throw in that my main reason for coming out to the islands was to see orcas in the wild and they did not disappoint. We went out on Western Prince Whale Watching and they took us over 50 miles and saw all 3 resident pods, a few humpbacks and a minke whale. It was a birthday wish come true :) Thank you again to Stephanie for the beautiful and relaxing trip. It was exactly what we needed! We can’t wait to come back and visit the San Juan Island again
Everything you would need and more. This was one of those places that was nicer than the photos on VRBO could convey. Super clean, excellent appointments, a deck to die for, very comfortable bed, etc.Would definitely stay here again. Secluded but close to Friday Harbor. Incredible property and very friendly and welcoming host.
Beautiful view and property. Saw foxes, deer and eagles right from the deck. Close enough to Lime Kiln State Park to stop by every day where we saw foxes, eagles, whales, porpoises and a sea lion. The rental was perfect size for a couple, very clean, nicely decorated and in a quiet, secluded private neighborhood. Kitchen was well appointed so we could eat dinner every night with a spectacular view of the Haro Strait and Olympic mountains.
