Great location for enjoying the up north. Used this location as a home base for our adventures into the surrounding state forests. Very quiet location.
Rosemarie was very responsive and easy to get a hold of. Check in process was very easy, had a great time relaxing on the river. Our two dogs had a great time as well. Cottage had all the essentials we needed. We will be visiting again. Also just an fyi there is a neighbor right next door with a dog, but they are also friendly and were gone most of the time.
Nice place, no AC but it is northern Michigan, so even in late July it was comfortable. Stayed here for the AuSable Canoe Marathon, didn't have a lot of time to enjoy the amenities of the cottage.
Cottage exactly as described. Very clean and easy to maintain. River in the back was smaller than I realized but also was at an an extremely low level due to weeks without rain. Bird life was delightful. Our two dogs had a great time and enjoyed wading in the river. Had trips to Hartwick Pines State Park most days and was very easy and quick to get to.
It is a nice place to stay. The river is very relaxing and offers some decent trout fishing. The neighbor “Jeff” is super friendly and is gone most the day so very quiet location. Only complaint: the outside grill…not good, one of those old state park type grills. Luckily my brother brought a small grill for us to use. But all in all worth the money to us as it was a perfect location for seeing family and friends. One observation: the house rules state that the wood stove cannot be used but it’s advertised in an amenity.
The deck in the rear of the house is a great feature. It is spacious and the river is a very short walk away. Cleanliness of some cooking ware was a problem for us. Teflon skillets were burnt and chipped. Not a good look. The outdoor grill was rusty and thick with grease. We found it unusable. The bedrooms, though spacious, lacked furniture--a small table or chest of drawers to hold small items would have been nice., Rosemarie was friendly and always accessible. She answered every query promptly.
We had a great stay on Cindy Lane! The setting on the AuSable is enchanting! The cabin was spacious, well equipped, and very clean. Campfires and music ended our days!
Overall stay was great! Enjoyed the cabin and the property, loved the seclusion. Could have used an extra helping of napkins, roll of paper towels, more than one extra garbage bag, and maybe emergency flashlights in case of any power outages. enjoyed the walkout deck to the river.
