"Lovely historic hotel in a great location. Food was excellent and the staff very friendly. We would definitely stay there again"

"Hotel reception very helpful. They had initially allocated us a room which required us to use stairs. My wife explained she had problems with her knee so they kindly reallocated us to a room accessible by a lift. The room was comfortable but there was a strange odour at entrance to the bathroom which we reported to reception. The hotel was very busy. We couldn’t get a table in the Dining Room before 8.45 which was rather late for us. The bar manager helpfully found us a table about 7pm which was ideal. Parking very limited and was full by the time we arrived early afternoon so we had to use multi storey about ten minutes walk away. Would certainly use again."

"Lovely room overlooking the canal. We walked into the town along the towpath & later enjoyed drinks after dinnerin the bar. Staff very helpful. Very dog friendly- they set up breakfast in the morning for us in the bar area so could stay with our dog."

The windows needed drastic attention, we could not move them due to the state of repair, I assume there is some sort on 'listed building status' but they really need attention.
