"My children and I spent a total of 20 nights at the hotel in June. We really enjoyed it, especially the kids who played in the pool almost every night. All the staff were very nice and friendly. The facilities were a bit old but that was understandable. We stayed for 18 nights at the beginning, then went to another city for two days and returned to Guangzhou to stay at the China Hotel again. Because of an air conditioning problem in our new room, the hotel changed our room. After packing our luggage again, my children and I waited in the room for almost two hours (around 7:30 pm) without any response. I contacted the hotel but it seemed they had forgotten about us, although they did send someone to our room to help us change rooms as soon as possible. Since I was traveling alone with three children and had a lot of luggage, we had to carry our luggage ourselves to the new room which was right next to the elevator and not as nice as the original room. However, I didn't mind for the last two nights. The hotel later brought us a fruit platter as an apology. Overall, it was a good experience although we weren't entirely satisfied at the end but we would consider staying at the China Hotel again next time."
