"I was a bit surprised with this facility. It’s been my experience that la quinta is usually upper end for mid grade hotels. You get what you pay for usually and the price was right. The breakfast was good-fresh waffles, eggs, sausage, and some continentals. It wasn’t open until almost seven though so we could only go once during our stay. There was plenty of free parking. Staff seemed nice and easily accessible. The trash in the lobby and at the entrance was over full. Our room, though physically clean, smelled like cigarette smoke one day and mold the next. It had a clean ambiance however so I didn’t feel concerned about pests like roaches and didn’t see any evidence of them either thankfully. Ice machines were broken. There were gnats hovering when we walked in the room but they seemed to disappear as the evening progressed. A urine smell rose from the carpet (but I only noticed this when the room was warm). Check out was super easy and the dining area for breakfast was roomy and clean. I’m not sure why but both nights people were making noise in the halls after 10 pm. It just seems to me common knowledge that people sleep at that time and hotel walls are generally thin. For the price I paid, I’d likely return but was hoping for better. Oh well!"

"The bathroom is not very well designed, especially for older people or those who have back problems. I have not seen a half shower door since I lived in Italy where I fell in the bathroom on the wet floor because the water sprayed from the shower. The shower head sprayed to the back of the shower where there is no door so the water went all over the floor and the bath mat was soaked. There are no bars inside the shower to hang wash cloths or grab bars to hold on to which is a hazard. There is only one towel bar to hang towels on to reuse. It would be nice to have another mirror other than the one over the sink to look into to apply makeup when there is more than one woman staying in the room, A mirror over the desk would be better than a picture. I have never seen such strange “art” work in a hotel, especially an expensive one. A white canvas with a narrow strip of what looked like a piece of flowered wall paper is not appealing in a hotel room even if it is a cost saver. We are not espresso coffee drinkers so the coffee maker was not to our liking and to get a cup of regular cup of coffee in the morning we had to go to the lobby. Some of us older folks like Keurig coffee makers! While the hotel is very nice, we feel that it is more conducive to younger professionals and not older tourists or families. On the positive side, the location and available places to buy food and drinks are very good. Mostly because of the bathroom issues we would not stay here again."
