The original Fresh Air Barbecue in Jackson, Georgia, is the oldest pit-cooked barbecue restaurant in Georgia still in its original location. Since its establishment in 1929 by Dr. Joel Watkins, Fresh Air Barbecue has served millions of barbecue sandwiches to the traveling public, from all over the United States. The menu is very simple with on BBQ, Brunswick Stew and Cole Slaw. Fresh Air Barbecue is known for having one of the shortest menus of any restaurant around. Cole slaw is one of the few major items that have been added to it in the last 80 years.
