"This is a well run hotel. It is an old hotel so, you must expect things to be a little unmoden. It was clean, staff were helpful and was a pet friendly hotel. Parking outside on the road but given a pass to place in your car. The bed was lovely, we got a good nights sleep. The shower was easy to use and over a bath. The breakfast was excellent, with a choice of continental, cereal and/or full English. Lovely smiling staff first thing in the morning. At checkout we were asked if everything had been okay from the lovely gentleman on reception. We travel alot all over the world and this hotel and staff were as good as some of the 4 and 5 stars we stay at. It's not always about how modern a place is, sometimes its about the history of the building and the vibe it gives you. There is a few areas that are in need of a little work but that is understandable with the age of the building. We would definitely stay here again. "

"It doesn't help that hotels.com use a different grading for rooms to the hotels own website so I didn't actually get the type of room I was expecting. Other than that a perfectly good stay other than with the room bath not having a plug they had to give me a key to a 2nd room as they were unable to find a spare bath plug"

"This is an incredibly small room. No where to put even a cup down. No glasses, cups or side tables. No irons. But clean and good location. Good for 1 night, wouldn’t stay longer. "

"On arrival, we were welcomed at Reception by builders braking out floor tiles and noise that you could hardly hear yourself speak. I complained and was told by the Manager that we had been informed of the on going works, this was not true. We would not have booked if we had been informed. He also told me that the hotel had no communication with hotels.com Breakfast very poor! Room was good apart from noise Will not use again. Please refund our costs. Graham Aldrich"

"Nice location but the actual hotel need updating. They have slapped some paint around but it needs a proper refit. Also the beds are very hard"
