" At check-in, Neil on reception was rude and dismissive. He even threw our key card across the desk rather than handing it to us, which was not a welcoming start to our stay. The room was generally clean, although there was hair on the bathroom wall, which was disappointing. Both the bedroom and hallway had a lingering smell of old cigarette smoke, which I assume dates back to when smoking was permitted in the hotel. The breakfast was good value for the price we paid, and all of the other staff members were friendly, helpful, and accommodating throughout our stay. Unfortunately, the hotel itself feels tired and in need of significant refurbishment. The photos online appear to be outdated and do not accurately reflect the current condition of the property. In my opinion, this is closer to a 3-star hotel than its advertised rating. While I appreciated the service from the majority of the staff, I would not choose to stay here again.
