"I recently spent five nights here (mid July) while solo hiking Volcanoes National Park (30 minutes away) and exploring the Hilo area. I would totally stay here again by myself or with my significant other. This was a beautiful and fun compliment to spending all day outside - being screened in and protected from the rain, but otherwise immersed in outdoor Hawaii. The garden is beautiful, and the property felt very private and safe to me. The outdoor shower was nice and hot - perfect after a...

"Fun and unique home with a lot of charm! Enjoyed sitting on the covered patio and listening to the rain and wildlife. One of the bedrooms is open to the living area below with no door. Not a problem for us but should be included in the description."

"Such a cool and unique place to stay. Definitely off the grid but still close to visit Volcanoes Nat Park. Highly recommend."

"Think of it as luxury camping and you'll be happy. If your idea of comfort is umbrella drinks by the pool, you will not. Personally, I loved it. But it's not for everyone. This is a rustic cabin in the jungle. 4.5 miles off the main road, 2.2 miles of it is dirt (well maintained, regular cars not a problem). 15 minute drive to nearest civilization (the part of the description being in the middle of a historic town is inaccurate - it's 7 miles outside a historic town). There are 4 walls,...

"The Lehua Lodge is the best place I have ever stayed on the Big Island!! Linda is a phenomenal host, very available and highly responsive!! The lanai on this property is amazing!! We loved listening to the rain and enjoyed all the gorgeous flowers! We loved it so much that we extended our stay!! Can not say enough about the home or the hosts!! We will definitely stay here again!!"

"The best that's all I got to say"

"The cottage was very clean and full of household items ready for use. It's a good thing i wake up around 5am because there's a Brahma (seemed like it) rooster next door that helps with the wake up process, hehehe. No need to set your alarm on your phone. The place was breezy once I opened all the windows. Truly a Hawaii experience. Thank you host!"

"Great location for us, clean, and stocked with everything we needed. Host was great with communication."

"My 10 year old daughter's favorite out of the 4 places we stayed, and I agree. Clean, affordable, and so charming, Tons of fruit trees and flowers, beautiful property. Great balance between eco friendly and comfortable. Guests are asked to conserve power (as location is solar powered and the location sometimes has long stretches of rain), but still great wifi, powerful fan, shampoo and body wash in the shower and a high water pressure endless hot shower. The fairy lights directing the way to...

"Room was as shown in photos. Worked perfect for my husband and I. Check in was quick and easy was met as we arrived."

"Perfect house and location for anyone looking to enjoy the National Park."

"We had a beautiful fresh bouquet waiting for us on the comfortable lanai. The yard is gorgeous and the house had everything we needed for our short stay - family, 4 adults."

"Enjoyed staying in this cabin! It was a welcome change of pace to relax in a rain forest! The host responds quickly to all messages. He also gave us lots of useful information about the area when he sent us the check-in information. All the doors are sliding doors which will make some noise at night if you need to open or close them. WiFi was really fast. It was really helpful to have labels for light switches, windows, and the bathroom shower. Highly recommend if you are looking for a quiet...

"The room is beautiful, the kitchen is big, the couch is comfortable, the bed was a little too firm for my old body but otherwise was great. The host was super nice, and answered promptly to all my questions. NOTE: if you need supplies get them from Hilo or get them before 5pm 'cause everything is closed early!!!"

"Loved this location! We had a great stay. The cottage is not air conditioned, but it's very shaded and with the fans provided it didn't matter. The WiFi is very spotty, but it's a rural location, so that wasn't shocking. We were close enough to Volcanoes National Park that we got there before anyone else was even at the summit, which was incredible. There were a few restaurants within driving distance, but we appreciated the host's caution that most places close early and it's best to get...

"We absolutely loved our stay here. The location was perfect for visiting the Volcano National Park. It literally was just a 5 minute drive to the park entrance so we were able to drive into the park on the night of our stay to see the venting from the volcano. The unit itself was beautifully decorated and stocked with everything we needed. And it was certainly an immersive experience being in the middle of the rainforest. I would 100% recommend a stay here and would love to visit it again...

"The location was great! Minutes from Volcanoes National Park! Also it was close to some restaurants and gas! The place was spacious and had comfortable bedding. There was a heater for cooler nights! The coffee pod machine and fridge are such nice features!!!"
