"We stayed at the Editory by the Sea for 3 nights. For such a big hotel, there are about 12 parking spots in front of the hotel, else you need to avail yourself of the free public parking that is close by (which we did for 2 nights). The hotel is currently rated as a 5-star, but it is really a 4-star hotel for the following reasons:
- The room amenities and quality are very in-line with other 4-star hotels
- Breakfast is plentiful, but the quality of the food is 4-star
- Hotel amenities indoor/outdoor pool are not heated, sauna/showers are standard
- Gym is standard
We ate dinner at the hotel and it was delicious each night - a definite step-up from breakfast. The serving staff were super friendly and made dinner enjoyable.
The cleaning staff who made up the room did a cursory job, never really cleaning the bathroom properly - hairs on the counter/floor were not cleaned.
On the flip side, the hotel is very conveniently situated, a close walkable distance to Ponte de Piedade, 2 beaches, the boardwalk and a 20 minute walk to town. We chose a room with a sea view and it was nice to enjoy the evenings on the balcony. The hotel staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Would recommend, but do not expect a 5-star experience."
