"Astir was literally across the street from the ocean. I did not have a full ocean view from my room, but I could see it from my balcony on the side of the building. It was a single room, so the bathroom was small, but the bed was comfortable. It was a lovely room for the price. The staff were very nice and friendly. There was a bar open in the afternoon/evening with a wonderful view of the ocean. I would definitely recommend this hotel, and I would stay here again. "

"No one at front desk—a man arrived but did not speak English; we thought he was a guest but he called someone on his cell phone and handed it to me—a woman spoke with me briefly and then the man showed us to our room. Old refrigerator; door did not close, freezer was full of frost. Very few patrons; good because cheap hollow core doors shut very loudly and marble floors very noisy. Kefalonia Grand Hotel

"★★★★★ We had a great stay at Kefalonia Grand Hotel and would definitely come back! The location was perfect, right in the centre with plenty of shops, restaurants and cafés within easy walking distance. The staff were all very helpful and welcoming throughout our stay. Breakfast had a great variety, with all coffees included, as well as fresh eggs and pancakes made to order from the kitchen, which was a lovely touch. The room itself was on the smaller side, but it was very clean and the daily housekeeping was excellent. Everything was kept fresh and tidy throughout our stay. There is street parking available, which we found quite easy to get during the day, although I imagine it could become more difficult later in the evening. Having a car is also useful for exploring Kefalonia, as some of the beautiful beaches do require a drive, which is pretty standard for the Greek islands. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. The location, friendly staff, cleanliness and breakfast made it a great experience, and we would happily stay here again. Definitely recommend!"
