The vibe is relaxed and it feels like there is a good amount of space so nowhere feels too crowded. We were there just as a couple but there were lots of families and children there but not to the point where it was disruptive if you’re just trying to have a relaxing time. Would definitely go back."

"We enjoyed our stay here - the staff answered messages quickly, and the room although basic had everything needed for a few nights stay including a small well equipped kitchen area (kettle, coffee machine, stove hob). Bathroom was small but perfectly useable. A bit more information about the area would be useful but that's what the internet is for. Check in was via a coded key pick up. The location is about 15 minutes walk from main areas of the town. "

"Really nice place to go and relax – was a bit caught out by the number of young families there (09.07.26-16.07.26), not really an issue (and we've had a family so know what it is like), but was hoping for a little more quiet, particularly regarding the family above our room!! We'll deffo go back, but 2 or 3 weeks earlier to hopefully avoid the families. Restaurants were excellent, the food was very very good (particularly Mouries) especially when compared to a restaurant in Malia Old Town – and very competitive when you take into account you need a taxi in and out of Malia old town. All restaurant staff were very attentive and liked to chat, so relaxed and very friendly. We had a swim up bungalow, worth the extra for that, you get a really nice private space for relaxing after a hard day on the beach! The beach was clean and kept very tidy (in fact, it wont a Blue Flag award while we were there). The sea was amazingly warm, probably one of the warmest seas I've been in on all my travels. The beach guy and the Beach Shack staff worked really hard and nothing was too much trouble for them – drinks were served very quickly, even at the furthest part of the beach from the bar. Overall, very nice place to go and relax."

"This was a nice hotel and reasonably priced. I stayed here for four days with my 14 year old son. We travelled over from Ireland. It had a 24 hour reception and the staff were very friendly and helpful. There is also 24 hour access to a computer and printer. And it also has a bar. They make food sometimes. I tried twice but they weren't making food when I asked. Though you can get food delivered to the hotel with E Food app. The pool isn't that big, but it's still nice. You can only get into the pool from 10am until 7pm. They seem strict on the 10am part, but we stayed in after 7pm without any problems. My main issue was the breakfast isn't that great in my opinion. It could also do with more fruit. It's quite close to Heraklion airport and you do hear a lot of planes and you can actually see them overhead from the pool. I actually read this before I booked our trip. The planes do get less frequent as the night comes. Tbh, it didn't affect our sleep and I would still stay here again if I ever go back."

"Very nice 5 star historical building. Fully updated with the latest amenities. Staff was amazing. Super friendly and helpful. Rooms were very spacious with all the amenities you could need. Remote controls for the 2 tv’s need new batteries. Pool area is very nice. 8/10 would highly recommend this place. Thanks for having us !"

"Excellent resort will equiped for families and children needs excellent food and drinks The only issue is because of it’s popularity it is too busy with many children running around and loud noises. Family room is too small and little privacy However very recommended for families"

"This is a new hotel and although it has a five star rating it is not quite yet a five star experience. Rooms are very comfortable and well equipped, but it is a bit soulless, it feels like a 4-star, it’s corporate rather than boutique. Definitely pay for a sea view room otherwise your view will be an ugly shopping centre. The location outside the Venetian city walls in an underdeveloped quarter of the city means a 25 minute walk into the old town in 30C heat, or multiple taxis. The rooftop pool is nice for a dip, with a lovely sea view, but the lounging area is very small. Breakfast is buffet style, no eggs to order, no a la carte. Staff are excellent and friendly, the gym is decent (although the music is loud and there’s no option to control it). There’s an unfortunate ‘signature scent’ in all public areas. Cheap, synthetic, powdery. If you want to explore the coast west of Heraklion this is a good location. But if you want to enjoy the museums, restaurants and bars in the city, this perhaps isn’t the best spot."
