"Despite the wet and windy conditions we really enjoyed our stay and managed to get around to our favourite spots. Steve & Julie provided a lovely starter pack to see us over the first 24 hours. Cottage is superb, with all the amenities you would expect at home. Would recommend it as a base to tour the countryside."

"We enjoyed the peace and quiet and the stunning views at Harsondale Bothy.The accomodation was very comfortable and cosy and has everything you need if you want to self cater. We felt very refreshed after our holiday there."

"Fantastic location. Ideal for what we needed but also really rural-feeling and peaceful. We found it quiet and charming. We enjoyed wandering in amongst the old orchard and down through the copse, across the scrubland that forms part of the floodplain of the Tyne. It was good to know there are badgers around although we weren’t lucky enough to see anyway. The dawn chorus was impressive. Very pleasant indeed. Definitely will book again if we’re back in the area. "

"Ideally situated for not just exploring the Wall but also for going North to Alnwick and the coast as well as central Newcastle. Very warm with plenty of hot water for bathed. Spar shop very close by selling most things including lids for stove. Hoste friendly and helpful. However, little privacy in front kitchen or outside. Views there but not as advertised."
