"The Retreat is gorgeous. The views of the Volcano and Lake are amazing. The pescatarian menu is perfect for vegetarians and pescatarians. All three meals are served. We did not have meals included but very much enjoyed dinner and breakfast there. The pocket sized gathering places are charming - slider over looking lake, dining room and reception, the separate lounge area with tea and coffee looking into the jungle. The evening walk was fun.
The property is on the top of a very steep hill...

"Fantastic location for visiting Arenal area. Hotel property is well maintained and easy to get around. Staff were all very helpful, especially when suggesting route to take to next hotel after a landslide closed the main road. Eating breakfast on porch overlooking lake was fantastic!"
