Loved how close it was to everything we wanted to see in the area. The rainbow street is just one street over and we were above the bookstore bar. It was a bit loud when the band was playing at the bar but they ended early (11p) and the host of the apartment provided several packs of disposable ear plugs if we wanted. We didn't need them at all though. With it being light most of the time we rarely went to bed before 11p and opted to go downstairs to see the bands play!

Our family had a wonderful stay and couldn’t have been happier with the experience. The front desk staff was absolutely outstanding—every single person we interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. Having someone available 24/7 made everything so easy, and they always went above and beyond to assist us. We stayed for two nights at the beginning of our trip and enjoyed it so much that we came back for our final night in Iceland. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. And the shower deserves a special mention—it was hands down the best shower we experienced during our entire trip! We highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Iceland and will definitely stay here again on our next visit.

On our second stay, we got a better room - roomier with two sets of windows, roomier bathroom with a decent shower enclosure, no drainage issues. However, I cannot give 5 on 5 because getting your bags from the garage to the elevator is a misery - no less than 3 doors, no less than 2-3 turns, and ramps and impediments. Trash and recycling bins are parked right outside the elevator. Then cleaning staff park their trolleys right outside the elevator. This makes rolling your suitcases into the elevator with a 90 degree turn cumbersome. Cleaning staff is also not gracious. They use up available space in the elevator and do not accommodate you in the lift - they go ahead and press the door close button. This was a bit shocking.

Stayed in the apartments and it was “fine”. Four nights is a long time for no house cleaning, no fresh towels, only two days worth of coffee was given, no garbage takeout, etc. Main bed was excellent and very comfortable and pull out bed was okay (best for kids). Stayed in July and with almost 24 hours of sunlight there are no blackout curtains! Bring eye masks (my kids won’t use them and didn’t sleep well due to all the light). Overall there is nothing special about the place other than a great location and oh, the water pressure in the shower is incredible. For the price it may be worth it and at the end of the day I slept excellent in the comfy bed, but it’s nothing to write home about.

It’s a lovely, clean hotel in a fantastic location. The only minor issue we experienced was the pillows on the beds were super flat.
