"No complaints, we chose this hotel as it had a gym and although it was small, it was reasonably well equipped, enough to do a decent workout, but if there were more than a few people in it could get cramped quickly. Would stay again if we were in the area "

"Sadly the friendliness and helpful nature of the staff cannot excuse some of the basic fundamental issues that I have experienced over the last few stays at this hotel. I decided to stay here as I am a keen swimmer and the facilities here are great in that regard. Unfortunately I seem to be unable to get the same quality of room between stays even though I always book the same room type. If it’s not noisy pipes it is television sets that don’t work properly or some other basic requirement that is lacking. It’s a real shame as it has the potential to be a really great hotel but is being mis-managed with not enough emphasis on hotel maintenance. A special mention should be made to Sanda, Megan and Felicity on the desk who all went out of their way to make up for the hotel’s shortcomings, and I can’t praise them enough. Hotel management however need to stay behind."

"The house itself is stunning, the location is so quiet and so beautiful. Amazing views across to the windmill and down a little track so feels private. Village is lovely, friendly people and easy access to lots of local outings, =Chatsworth House worth the drive. Honesty bar and greeting gift were a lovely touch. The Black Boy recommendation was well-deserved, fab food.Massive bedrooms with comfy beds, entrance boot room ideal for getting in/out the house and all the junk! Gorgeous decorating, open space and social areas are great, everyone loved the indoor and outdoor games. Spot on communication and nice clear instructions to get there, the sign on the fence really helped us spot it. Fake grass meant we could use the garden even when it rained. Juglans barn is quite new to rental so we suggested a few modifications to the owner and they were open and welcomed our suggestions. When we stayed the main bedroom upstairs didn't have blinds or a door to make the most of the view (it's sort of an open suite of rooms set up), it didn't cause us any issues but we did suggest some form of privacy/blocking out the light might be useful. It does get quite warm upstairs but not unbearable if you open windows. I'd really recommend Juglans Barn."

"Located 15mins from Matlock, this property is in an excellent quiet location. Beds comfortable, Hot Tub which was clean and perfect temperature the moment we arrived. Odd bit of maintenance Ive informed the owner about but did not affect our stay. Communication was constant throughout the stay answering questions we had almost instantly. Really nice touches like washing up liquid, condiments and small things you would not expect from a vrbo property. The games room which was a hit with my kids. We would come back and recommend "

"Absolutely beautiful cottage full of essentials for our stay. The whole setting is stunning with the gardens and surrounding areas. Plenty of local pubs and restaurants close by for food as well as supermarkets to grab snacks for the house. We went to Gulliver’s kingdom 20 mins away and Alton towers 1 hour away across our 2 days stay which were both easily accessible. There is a wide range of sizes of cottage and homes to choose from all of which looked amazing. "
