"We had a lovely family room - Ideal for the 4 of us. Parents had a 2 person room in the old building. My advice is to request a room in the new building if you prefer to avoid stairs - We were not aware of all the stairs and my parents found it difficult. This wouldn't stop us staying again - we would just request a ground floor room. Food was good. Parking was good. Most of the staff were excellent. Was in an excellent location for our needs."

"Colin and the Dumfries Villa was an absolutely delight! It was such an easy walk from the train station, incredibly convenient! Colin made us feel like we were family-the villa was quiet and peaceful, the room was perfect! As two traveling women, we felt incredibly safe and cared for. Colin also let us know about all the wonderful sites to see in town and gave us a map to be able to get around easily. The breakfast was a true/traditional Scottish breakfast, made to personal preferences, by Colin himself! I will definitely be staying here again if I ever happen to be in the Dumfries area in the future! Thanks so much, Colin!"

"Good sized room,very comfy Bed Bathroom was very clean and had all the clean towels. The food was very good and a large portion. All in all a very good stay and I would stay again"

"Lovely hotel in nice grounds, recently renovated. Nice room and staff very friendly and attentive. Only thing missing is a good menu in restaurant. No choice of starters , main meal burgers, fish and chips, steak pie etc . Great if that’s what you’re looking for. Would have been nice to see something with potatoes veg salad etc . Still a lovely stay"
