"The room was very dusty, there were dirty socks behind the bedside cabinet, the vinyl on the headboard was peeling off. The shower door frames were filthy, the shower mat was disgusting, there wasn't a plug in the handbasin. The door to the en-suite bathroom looked as if it had been kicked in as the handle/lock area was smashed with large splinters of rough wood sticking out so it couldn't close properly or lock. There are no USB charging points in the room!! this is most unusual these...

"Wow, what a follow up. After the worst stay in a hotel in my life, I asked for a refund. I was given only 1 of my 2 nights, so pushed back as to why. The hotel told Expedia that I had not spoken to the front desk "to give us a chance to put things right". I had. 🙃 I explained to a blonde lady on reception that I couldn't sleep due to excessive noise in the corridors and coming through the floor below me. Not because downstairs were loud, the soundproofing was just that bad. I asked could I...

"Nice rooms, easy parking. Have a night porter who was very helpful. Have stayed before and would be happy to stay again."

"Beautiful hotel in areas but if you’re planning to stay here with a baby or you are a wheelchair user I’d maybe think again! This hotel is not accessible at all, it’s quite old so has narrow corridors, lots of heavy doors that are shut between corridors & we were put in a room that had no lift access & was at top of a narrow steep staircase - it was completely impossible to get to with a baby & pram! We had to ask to change rooms and the staff on reception weren’t apologetic or friendly at all!...

"Spa was great"

"Spa is amazing , definitely recommend. We couldn’t have breakfast at the hotel because of lack of vegan options which was a shame"

"Breakfast was very good. Not much entertainment in evening"

"The staff were very helpful. At the moment there is work being done to improve the outside of the building, we were told about this. The food was excellent, with plenty of choice."

"Enjoyed the pool and the restaurant."

"the best part of the property was the convenience to the train and bus stations."

"The staff were excellent. The rooms were very well maintained and very clean. The breakfast range was very good and a filling start to the day. An enjoyable and relaxing experience"

"Lovely hotel for a quick trip to Wales celebrating our mums 86th birthday. Loved the history and, though somewhat dated, the rooms were comfortable."
