"The Benjamin Hotel was one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in. It’s an unmanned boutique hotel, and the process was seamless—they text you a door code, which made check-in incredibly easy. There are only about four rooms, located in a beautifully renovated space above shops in downtown Watkins Glen. Our room was spacious and thoughtfully designed, with a lovely kitchenette featuring a full-size refrigerator, the largest bathroom I’ve ever seen in a hotel, and a large enclosed (unheated)...

"Nice unit , everything was very clean . Nicely furnished. Pretty good size interior with a dining table . Great guest services- when I asked the host if there was a rubber bath mat on premises somewhere for the bathtub / shower and we determined there wasn’t, the next morning housekeeping had dropped a new one off at our doorstep. "

"Heavy cleaning solution smell upon walking in. Queen mattresses on full frames so mattresses wouldn't lay flat (had to modify myself for some comfort) shower curtain poorly mounted/cheap rod leaving water pouring onto bathroom floor at start of shower (excellent water pressure though!) no way to lower heat so left window open all night but no fan to move air around. Attempt to a boutique style place but only 80%. Small things but all adds up. I'd consider staying again. "

"The Gorge apartment was perfect-sunny, clean, well stocked and close to the village. Hiked the Gorge Trail, visited wineries, found lots to eat and rented kayaks. We also loved sitting on the deck for morning coffee and evening cocktails"
