"when we checked in on 9/21 the receptionist was so rude. Rather then asking how can I help you she said in a rude town what do you want. I stood there waiting cause she was typing and didn’t acknowledge that I walked in and when I stood there for 3min she then said what do you want? I then said I wasn’t sure whether you she was busy cause she didn’t greet me she was just glued to her screen and didn’t say anything. She then check me in asked my id then told me I have to return the key to the front desk when I check out. She seemed as if she was rushing. I then asked where the elevator was cause he had a lot of luggage and she said they didn’t have one. I asked how many floors and which floor was our room on and she said all the rooms were on the second floor. I told her it was our first time the hotel and wasn’t familiar with the hotel. She brushed me off and continue typing what ever it was that she was typing. I felt like I was bothering her. Mind you we got in on a later flight and got to the hotel around 930pm and were super tired. Anyway we went upstairs and looked for our room. It was confusing cause our room was at the end of the hall on the otherside of the staircase . rooms were huge and the bed was very big (king bed) which was amazing. After bringing our stuff upstairs I and getting settled in my mom and I couldn’t figure out how to turn off the main room lights. We pushed every button and still could t figure it out.she rudely said it’s on the wall but it wasn’t"

"The family running the resort were just amazing. Always willing, cheerful and everything done with smiles on their faces. We were given wonderful, tasty meals, with the mahi-mahi being the standout. The chalets all have sea views, have comfortable beds and good showers. Excellent wifi in public area. Mala Island Resort ticks all the boxes for an enjoyable, relaxing holiday."

"The room was basic. Clean enough. The staff were friendly and helpful. Fast internet. Bed comfortable. Well lit. There was no view, TV or fridge. The shower was very good. Price was ok. We encountered issues here and there, like toilet clogged, leakage, falling rails, but the staff and owner helped us readily. There is parking space. They won't reply to messages much. They are magnificent people who are willing to help though. Please say hello to the resident puppies as well when you get there."

"The place is a great option while in Nuku’alofa. Is one of the few places with active restaurant on a Sunday. If you have a Sunday stay, don’t think about it twice. The place is in good shape ànd the beds are king size ànd really comfortable. You can see à bit of the wear and tear over the years but nothing major. Perfect for a short stay while in town."
