"We were not sure what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised that most of the units were spread out over acreage with a fair amount of spacing between them. This gives the impression that you're staying in the wilderness. The property between units is mostly kept wild; we even saw a couple of deer when we went out for an early morning walk! "Our room was clean, and the breakfast was fine. However, we heard the neighboring TVs very clearly and it was intrusive. The property was once a showcase. However, the fire pits that were touted on the website were broken. Many of the doors had peeling paint. There were fans that had misters in the eating area that did not work. There were horse shoe / washer pits that either did not have the equipment to play, or the tree limbs were so low you could not throw the horse shoes with hitting...

"The front desk staff provided great service. Unfortunately, the jacuzzi wasn’t working, and we would have appreciated knowing that in advance. We used the swimming pool, which was fine, although it could have been cleaner. The carpet in the room also felt a bit dirty, and the shower is quite small. On a positive note, breakfast was surprisingly good and we really enjoyed it."
