"Property was very clean and had everything that we needed. It did have two bedrooms which would be OK if you had two adults and two small kids. Not enough room for 4 adults, but it was perfect for my husband and myself. Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the lady working in reception who was wonderful and very understanding when we accidentally booked the wrong date for checking out. The location was great in Seaview, walking distance to the sea with some lovely eating places...

"The property is on a development of similar accommodations. It was very quiet and not many properties were occupied. The listing stated it was next to a golf course, we didnt come across a golf course at all. There are no facilities on the site other than a laundrette. It was a bit of a ghost town to be honest. "Well equipped cottage and good sized set in a quiet location with lovely views. Both double bedrooms had patio doors to outside space, one a communal courtyard, one a private garden. Easy off street parking for several cars, perfect base to explore island, Osborne house being particularly close. Easy to find after ferry from Fishbourne, stopped off at Quarr Abbey en route as literally passed its entrance. Check in easy to arrange with owner. Would recommend."

"Disappointed with to find a whole large bowl of yogurts out of date ( not just one but all were out of date) The lady at dinner greeting us had a bit of an attitude problem and was not friendly Receptionist blamed the staff which was very unprofessional for a hotel of this calibre, they could do an awful lot better We were not the only ones to complain, receptionist indicated that their student staff had gone back to college The clearly is a middle or even a senior management and business model issue that needs addressing"

"The hotel is well maintain and the public areas are a pleasant place to spend time. Decor/furnishing is fun and good quality. The rooms are a good size and the bed was very comfortable. The pool area is not huge, but is a pleasant place to spend some time. Parking is limited. Sadly, I had an issue with dinner and breakfast. The website had stated that their was food available in the evening during peak season, but that was not the case. The website seems to have been updated to reflect this. Breakfast is served from 8am to 10am, which I found a little limited as I was travelling for work. Sadly, the doors to the restaurant were still closed at 8.05am, so I was forced to make alternative arrangements. Small things to fix, but overall good."

"The Prince of Wales has bus-stops immediately outside the building and it is located opposite the entrance to Osborne House. Our breakfasts were generous in terms of portions and any extra requirements arrived swiftly. Our room was very good value and it was very quiet. Two minor issues with fixtures were resolved quickly and cheerfully. We did not have a car during this visit, but the bus journey from the East Cowes dock took only a few minutes on the local bus service. Great value , great location, and helpful staff."

The Caledonian Island Hotel

"the hotel is nicely placed near to Sandown Town centre and the beach. The hotel is large and is set in lovely grounds. Things that could be improved: - there was woodlice in our room, would be nice if these were eradicated - there is no footpath from the front of the hotel to the pavement outside the hotel. It means you have to walk along the access road to the hotel. Not nice with kids. - the breakfast is until 9am but by 845am was looking very tired. Would be good to have it properly refilled until 9am. - apart from the pool table there is nothing for children to do, this hotel is very much aimed at the retired short-break community. Overall the hotel was ok and served its purpose plus has red squirrels outside!"
