"Have stayed at this Hotel a few times and felt this time the food/bar service poor. Had an evening meal with very limited menu and had to go and collect yourself from the kitchen bar area. Tables not clean or trays. Felt like we were at our old school canteen!"

"Great breakfast, basic but clean room. Heard the animals in the zoo next door..... which we loved! Easy access to Zoo, Murrayfield Stadium and City. Swimming pool, sauna and SPA available on site. We'll be returning soon!"

"Sleek smart appearance to the building. Very smart, clean and comfortable from the front automatic double door. Great welcome with really kind staff to greet and check in. They were happy to help and asked if we needed anything else with our stay. Reception was staffed at all times and able to help. Really good to see should any help be needed. Bar certainly seemed well stocked. Comfortable areas too. Room was clean, made up very presentable. Desk and chair as seen on pictures of room with desk chair and more a sit-back, sink-in chair too. Queen size bed was comfortable, 1 hard pillow and soft pillow each side. Open wardrobe behind the bed with a rail above and below for space if needed. Decent tea/coffee making facilities in room with hot chocolate sachets, oat or chocolate biscuit packs too for something sweet. Good lighting in room, bathroom is very good size, the rain effect large shower head is wonderful. Also sky tv with news channels and sky sports (not smart which would have been nice- not taking it away though). "Room was clean and plenty spacious for us and the dogs. Even a blanket was left out to protect the bed/furniture which was good. Everything worked as it should in the room. Evening meal at the pub was lovely, couldn't fault it and service was good. Disappointed with smoked bacon on the breakfast as the menu doesn't state this and they had no unsmoked option. Rest of breakfast was good, continental options good and fresh coffee there waiting. Staff were attentive and friendly. The major problem we had for our stay was noise. Firstly from the plumbing. We were in room 21 and every time anyone flushed the toilet in that block there was a very loud screechy noise while it refilled which was far worse at 5am when someone else flushed and woke me from sleep. Then the noise from vehicles right outside our door from very early (including a motorbike) as our door opened on to the beer garden/parking. Also people talking and repacking cars/vehicles disturbed us. "

"Would have preferred a room further away from reception area and bar area as yes you would expect noise from a bar however would not expect to hear the telephone and people checking in from our room just along from reception area. Would also have been better if the doors between the rooms 1 to whatever corridor was closed might prevented some of the noise. All else was ok."
