Spacious Rustic Mountain House near Blue Ridge Parkway

Our large, beloved home is perfect for your mountain getaway! Located in the Powder Horn community, about 10 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, 20 min. from downtown Boone, and 40 min. from Blowing Rock. The house is nestled in the woods, where viewing deer and wild turkey is a common experience, and birdlovers can see or hear the rare pileated woodpecker. This is a gated community which provides extra security, although the animals can come and go as they please.

The house has 3 levels:
The main floor has a fully equipped kitchen with dining nook, a full bathroom, two bedrooms (queen-sized bed in one, 2 twin beds in the other). The large den has a games table, TV (with Roku + local channels, DVD player and VCR), and sliding glass doors leading to the beautiful wrap-around deck, where you can sit among the treetops.
The entry, main floor and deck are wheelchair accessible.

The top floor has a loft with a bumper pool table, couch and twin bed with trundle underneath. There is also the primary bedroom with a queen-sized bed, full bath, and an outdoor balcony.

The ground floor has a ping-pong table, one double bed, one twin bed, a full bath, and a porch with a hammock.

We provide WiFi but please remember, although we pay for the best service on the mountain, we are still in the mountains! Our service can be spotty in adverse weather.

The Powder Horn Mountain community has hiking trails, an outdoor solar-heated swimming pool, lake with paddle boats, tennis courts, picnic area and a clubhouse. In the clubhouse you'll find pool tables, games, videos to borrow, and frequent community events. You can find more information about neighborhood amenities on their website.
