Via Serenity Stream

  • Relax in this cozy cottage on the riverbank with 2 bedroom 1.5 bath and sleeps 5 comfortably at the bottom of Reddish knob and the George Washington National Forest. The stream falls continually by the house all year and there are 2 lakes within a few miles of the house that are stocked with trout along with stocked rivers. Step outside the door and hike and bike unlimited back roads and trails.

This place was excellent. Probably my favorite Vrbo yet. I could sit next to that creek all day. And the host was very helpful and accommodating.

Perfect

Clean, well-stocked, private, awesome location. Stayed for a couple days of mountain biking on the local trails which can reached with a short pedal right from the driveway. Will stay again!

Just Right

We stayed here for Family weekend at JMU. We wanted to be away from the crowds, and this was a great spot. Everything was great! Comfy beds, warm shower and a nice kitchen. Wish we could have enjoyed the outdoor spaces more, but it rained the whole weekend!

Our favorite oasis

Another great stay at Serenity it is the perfect antidote after long days in the sun at a music festival. Suzanne always provides thoughtful touches ( such as the delish cinnamon rolls she left for us). We’ll be back!

Relaxing!!

Relaxing and enjoyable stay! Would definitely go back, maybe in the fall for the leavesStream behind house was my favorite spot to sit and drink coffee in the morning, wine in the afternoon. Lots to do, maybe a 30 minute drive. We fished, went to several caves & wineries. Definitely checkout the natural chimneys!!

Serenity it was!

Suzanne has been a wonderful host starting with communication prior to arrival and then throughout! The place had everything we may have needed and much more - fresh fruit, snacks (savory and sweet), dairy and condiments in the fridge. Thank you so much for everything- we had a fantastic week at Serenity by the Stream!!!

AMAZING Trip!

I don’t know what’s better: the location next to a creek, the beautiful views, cozy home, or generous owner… they were all AMAZING! You can’t beat the location with complete privacy, awesome views of nature, and the soothing sounds of the creek right in the backyard. My family enjoyed sitting on the stone outcropping relaxing over the creek. The home itself is cozy, comfortable, great mattresses, well stocked, and totally inviting. The owner is the most attentive and kind person we’ve ever rented from. She checked in with us before we arrived to see if there was anything we needed, offered wonderful recommendations about where to dine, and keeps an impeccable house to enjoy. So much was provided that we didn’t need to bring: bed sheets, clean towels, snacks, fruit, coffee, milk, etc. Her hospitality is superb. We can’t wait to visit again, we absolutely loved this rental and would return just to stay here and relax for days!

Great Getaway!

Listing is exactly as described. Quiet, serene and a lovely setting to relax by the stream and just enjoy nature. Suzanne strives to make her guests as welcome as possible without being intrusive and provides great communication. Cabin is well-stocked with paper products, extra towels, coffee, condiments, baking supplies, snacks and there were even some emergency dinner items in the freezer. Will stay again if time permits. My only minor issue dealt with nature, there were lots of gnats the first day as we strolled around the property. The other days were fine, so my point is to bring insect repellent just in case. That did not affect my 5 star rating! Thank you Suzanne!

Beautiful Little House in the Woods

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at “Serenity.” As advertised, there IS a stream—or rather, a babbling brook—right behind the house, complete with Adirondack chairs for lounging. The house itself is very clean and well-stocked with extra towels, coffee, fruit and everyday essentials. And, surprisingly, the internet worked even though the property is snugged hard against the Blue Ridge Mountains :) Suzanne was a wonderful host and replied promptly to any questions we had—this was one of our best private rental experiences ever and we hope to stay here again next year.

Secluded GW forest getaway

Lovely little house by the stream. Stayed for our daughter’s graduation weekend. Well worth the drive from Harrisonburg. Beautiful views and close to great hiking. Would love to come back!

Perfect getaway

Truly an amazing cabin with cozy charm!!!! It exceeded our expectations and the pictures cannot accurately capture its true enchantment!!! Our host Suzanne was phenomenally responsive and graciously provided a greeting of fresh cut roses, Valentine's candy and a well stocked pantry. The sound of the stream was a constant source of nature's reminder to slow down and appreciate the outdoors. The cabin was extremely clean and well stocked with towels, extra toiletries and paper products. We bundled up and explored the George Washington National Forest, Flag Pole Knob and the Hone Quarry area. We loved watching the birds and squirrels in the morning and appreciated the gas fire place in the evening after hiking in the frigid January temps. We had a perfect getaway and look forward to returning in the Spring!

A special spot in the forest!

My young daughter and I had a beautiful time in this lovely cabin! The updated kitchen was stocked with the basics for breakfast and all the equipment needed for cooking. The beds upstairs were super comfortable, and the main bath was spotlessly clean. The sounds of the creek outside our windows lulled us to sleep, and the location is perfect for hiking and cycling, or just relaxing with loved ones. The owner was very communicative and flexible — we can’t wait to visit again!

Came for the fall colors and the scenery did NOT disappoint! The Cabin was absolutely wonderful and wished we could have stayed longer. The cabin had everything we could need.

Wonderful

This place is just as described. Very clean and ready for guests. Surroundings were lovely. Kitchen was stocked. My son loved the extra snacks! Plenty of linens and towels and blankets too. Working with owner was great. Definitely go back if in area again.

Amazing cabin

This is a perfect cabin in a secluded, private location by the creek. The appliances are new, including washer and dryer. There are extra towels, wood for fire, coffee for kuirig, snacks, cable TV with MANY channels., great WIFI, comfortable pillows and beds. There is even a dog bed. Pictures are not doing it justice. You simply must experience it for yourself! Host is amazing by responding right away.

I don’t ordinarily leave remarks, but I must in this case. The house is so well appointed, the host Suzanne really works hard to make guests feel welcome and taken care of. We will definitely be back again!
