Pen-tir, Cwmdu The prominence of Pen-tir Hill overlooks the village to the east and was a fortified encampment close to, and probably associated with, traces of Roman occupation here. The woodland covering its slopes is called Coed y Gaer/wood by the camp. The mountain extends northeast towards Mynydd Llangorse.

On the Beacons Way From the Beacons Way above the wall delineating the open access land and looking across the whole square from the north-east. An axle was an incongruous sight up here.
